It ends and you use another 3 month sim. Port your number to google voice, get a fake new number with this sim and forward your calls to this new number from google voice. Rinse and repeat every new sim and you will be able to take advantage of ANY prepaid deal promotion from any prepaid carrier forever

I bought Mint Mobile service for a year back a couple months ago and I'm not super impressed for my needs. It's good overall, but the service drops a lot. Mind you, I live in the New York countryside and not in a city.
If you're always going to be urban, probably a good fit for you.
I also have Cricket Wireless (AT&T) and it's nearly perfect out here.
It's T-Mobile's network - Mint should be good anywhere TMO gets service without roaming.

You're correct! I remember now. If you want to maintain the 90-day cycle, you'll need to switch between two phones. Thanks.

If that were true, then I shouldn't have been able to activate at least three "new customers only" deals in a row like I have. It may be "official policy," but so far as I know it's never been enforced.

I need to do this - I am considering porting my current number to Google Voice and forward calls/texts to another number I have w/ Xfinity Mobile. Eventually, calls/texts to the number ported-to Google Voice could be forwarded to a new/throwaway number at Mint (or any other provider).
I have never used Google Voice. Are there any best-practices or drawbacks or gotchas or things to think about or watch out for when doing this?

Incorrect - I believe that only applied, and MAYBE, if you purchased directly from mint. I only heard of this and never experienced it. I've never had an issue when purchasing 3rd party.

Google voice is awesome. So many features. Have been doing this for years. Only a nominal cost to port in and you will never have to worry about or deal with porting in to other carriers to get a deal or losing your number again. It has everything you could ever want. When the service runs out on a prepaid sim, just toss it out and pop in a new one from your stash that you bought on a deal like this Change the forwarding number in Google voice (use the app for everything) to the new disposable nunber you get from the new sim and off you go.

My phone (iPhone 14 Pro) cannot take a physical SIM. So how do I buy this and activate? Or is this not for me?

Not really. You will have the Google Voice app on your phone. Just look in the app and make sure that you have entered the phone numbers that you want connected to your GV. There might be a financial institution that doesn't like to use GV for texting to you for 2 factor authentication.

Yes, and in the case of texting that some banks use to verify but don't acknowledge Google voice numbers, you can simply use your throw away number if you add it to your bank profile.

Some of those banks and organizations, you can call or email or text or chat to have that GV number manually added and verified. Others, it still wouldn't work, like you said.

If I use Mint sim on a unlocked Verizon branded Samsung, will I need to set APN or will the phone handle it automatically? THese Samsung Verizon branded phones are a pain to change.
