Noise canceling is better on the Sony's. Bose are the only headphones I heard on par. I don't know if you care for 3d audio. I don't think pixel buds will do that.
As far as longevity. I went though 4 pair of sony buds. Batteries died in all of them. The longest I got a pair to last was a little over a year
Loved the sound/ANC on the XM4s, but not giving Sony another dime for their garbage firmware and battery issues. Just a matter of time before these fail too.

How is this compared to Samsung Duo2 Pro?
You mean buds pro 2? I have them and love them. I had the Buds live previously and can say that Samsung buds are awesome. They've been through a wash cycle and still keep working just fine after 3years.

If you don't mind refurb, these are $199.99 from Secondipity on eBay with a 2 year warranty. Just picked these up after getting a refund for my XM4s warranty through Allstate.

Subjectively bose is better according to rtings.com
I haven't read rtings ratings, but from my experience I'd have to agree. I used to have these and other Sony buds because the ANC was the best I had heard at the time, even though the experience was often glitchy and they stopped working after less than a year. Then I begrudgingly paid a little more for Bose Quiet Comfort 2 earbuds and OMG the active noise cancelling was next level even better than the Sonys, and they fit my ear perfectly and don't come out like the others did. My zero turn mower's very loud engine becomes almost a whisper with the Bose. Cannot recommend them enough if ANC quality is a high priority.

I haven't tried the newer QC ultras yet... probably as good or better, but the QC2s are epic IMHO.

I am hesitant to buy used in ear unit.
If you think that's bad, stay away from the used 14" subwoofer bud

I'm hesitant to buy used anything, but for whatever reason, I did buy a mfc refurb of in-ear earphones similar to these a few years back. The discount must have been significant. I'm pretty sure the included ear tips were brand new. Could not tell anything had been used at all. After the first use, it was like, well it's my earwax now... no biggie.

In retrospect, I wouldn't do it again, because who knows how cycled the batteries are. I think I got pretty lucky, because they're still good for 2-3 hour lawn care sessions at least.

Did you get any A/S or replacement for short bettery life? Mine is dead after a year, not sure if it is normal. Normally other earbuds last longer than this.
I just replaced the battery in the left earbud of my XM4s this weekend due to it dying. Wasn't too hard, I used a heatgun to loosen the glue but a hairdryer should work as well. The glue job putting it back together isn't too nice but I was pretty impatient with that part of the process.

The kit I bought was a 2 pack on Amazon for ~$35

Can confirm, my XM4 buds last only one hour when it is advertised for 8 hours on a charge. Sony support says they can either refund or repair (which requires months of waiting because parts are backordered)

Bought my XM4 refurbished. The right earbud battery is dying. It's over the warranty. Is there anything Sony will do?

If you bought it from eBay with the Allstate warranty then you can go that route.

I bought these from Best Buy brand new at full price. Was very disappointed by the noise cancelling aspect of these ear buds. On the app, when you toggle the noise canceling mode on or off, it hardly makes a difference. I then played a you tube video of airplane noise and tried the ear buds, I could still hear the noise come through. I then switched to my samsung buds pro 2 and was shocked at the difference. Almost night and day. This is even after I updated to the latest firmware on the Sony buds. Very disappointed. And I saw several youtube reviews saying this is the best in class. Maybe I had a defective model? Not sure. I ended up returning mine
