I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

Can you elaborate what you did to get the phone unlocked?
Followed the AT&T trick from the earlier thread:

Q: How do I unlock with the "AT&T trick"?
A: There are a few steps:
Acquire an inactive AT&T SIM (DO NOT ACTIVATE SERVICE)
Put the inactive AT&T SIM in the iPhone and complete the setup process
Visit https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and click "submit an unlock request"
Under "Do you have a mobile number" select "No", enter the device IMEI, and complete the process
You should get one email right away asking you to confirm and another one shortly afterwards to say that the unlock was complete after your confirmation
Insert a SIM from a different carrier to verify the phone is now unlocked (the settings might still say "SIM Locked" until you complete this step)

Alright guys. I am able to get everything done before the Verizon phone arrives tomorrow.
Looks like the new number is activated once Walmart ships it. I created my Verizon account when I made my purchase and it wouldn't let me link the phone number at that time, but the linking was successful earlier tonight. I chat with a Verizon online rep to confirm that my line was already activated before I preceded to cancel my new line.
I paid off the device by calling 18008374966 and asked the bot "pay off device" (credit goes to ldsp for figuring that out). Just try call them again if you can't get it to work the first time, maybe the bot just couldn't parse the command from your voice input. Make sure you enter a payment method on your account prior to the call. Once it is paid off, you should receive a payment confirmation email from them.
I used the online chat to ask them to cancel or disconnect my new line. The online rep also showed me the charges, including the prorated charges (11/9-11/10), govt fees and a $35 activation fee, total came out to be around $56. I told her that I am cancelling the line within 3 days so the activation fee should be waived off and she said she will make an exception to subtract the activation fee from the final amount, which comes out to be $14.22. The rep also mentioned that I will be charged the next month's bill in advance but it will be refunded back to me (not sure how that works though). At the end, the line was removed from my account before I even opened the new phone, maybe I will just put the unopened iphone13 in my drawer for 60 days Smilie

So the break down is $25.79 tax + $299.00 payoff + $14.22 VZN fees = $339.01

Good night everyone Smilie
Any luck activating/unlocking your new phone?

I am being told if I purchase in store that Verizon will let me pay all but $1 of the and set at sign up.
Then what.... Will I still be able to cancel the next day and get a refund for the remaining service amount. And can I do this via Chat or phone call directly with Verizon.
I bought one tonight at a local Walmart and that is correct. I paid $298+tax, came to $325. Phone was activated in the store by employee. Now I need to pay off the one dollar and cancel the line.

Were you able to payoff the phone at time of purchase.?
I purchased in store and was allowed to pay $298 + tax. Came to $325. Used my credit card. The phone is listed on our account (I added a line) several hours later. I plan to pay the $1 tomorrow, then cancel later in the day. I will update tomorrow as to how difficult or easy it was.

Suppose I used verizen network for the first time, then cancel the service.
Does anyone know if the unlocked verizen phone can be used for Visible plans?
Thanks.

So just clarifying question. Can I use an old inactive cricket sim to do att unlock trick? Or an active att sim from a different device?

Will any AT&T sim work for unlock trick? I have some old sims from like 10 years ago. Or does it have to be a newer one?
Same here. Mine is about that old also. I don't have my phone to test but curious if old sims like that will work.

I ordered on 8th, but it's still on the way! I even don't know the Verizon number. How would I find Verizon number before the phone arrives? Also, when should I cancel the line? Before 72 hours of phone ordering? Or within 72 hours of phone delivery?

This is best way to grab this deal now and safest also as you owe very less amount . When you will walk into store to pay off or call CS , they will have no issue letting you pay off . I have mentioned this earlier also. I am doing same from last many deals and have no issues till now.

But people here get greedy and ignorant of right advise and start abusing the deals . They are calling CS to pay off whole amounts of phone which will flag these deals to VZN and Walmart and they may start denying these in future .

Anyways good step by you bro. Enjoy your phone.

Do they require you to insert the sim into the phone to activate at the store? If so, for Verizon phones that would lock it for 60 days and you wouldn't be able to use an old AT&T sim to unlock it on day one.

Is it 3 days once you order it, or 3 days after activation? I'll receive mine today (3 days after I ordered it/added a line).

Small update for today (Nov 10 2pm), which I added below.

Here's my ATT iPhone 13 purchase journey.

* Nov 8 - 12pm: Ordered ATT iPhone 13 from Walmart. New Customer. Only paid tax ($26).
* Nov 8 - 3pm: Received a "welcome" email from ATT asking to verify email. It showed last 4 digits of account #, but since I do not have the full account # I cannot register.
* Nov 9 - 4pm: Received a new email from ATT titled "take action now to get access to your new service". The link inside the email let me register even though I don't know my account #. After registering, I now have access to the account # that ATT assigned to me.
* Nov 9 - 5pm: Poking around the site some more I was able to find my actual phone # assigned to the phone. also found the payoff section and decided to pay off the phone. It has reflected payment in my credit card account.
* Nov 9 - 10pm: Received shipping information with tracking #. Scheduled for delivery on Nov 10.
* Nov 10 - ???: expect delivery of phone. Will keep updated as I want to register/payoff/cancel immediately so I don't have to incur any additional feels like prorated usage or activation. Technically already paid off the phone so we'll see....
Did you get your phone?
