Main thing is most people need a smaller freezer than fridge section, and the door mechanism is cheaper than drawers. So cheap models go with doors, and in that case, the smaller door is much easier to use on top than swinging on the bottom.

Got mine a couple months ago for the same price - wasn't damaged in transit as many have commented about - and it's been working great. IMO, an excellent small apartment fridge or second fridge if you have multiple roommates

Just received this today. I ordered Wednesday morning. I was surprised it was delivered to my front door as i live on the 2nd floor.

No issues or dents on the fridge. Kudos to my FedEx driver!!

Bought one of these as a garage beer fridge. No issues with the fridge, but it did come dented. Wally gave me a few bucks. My other option was to lug it back into a store and get a replacement. If it wasn't a beer fridge, I would have been annoyed.

Mine arrived with zero damage. Unfortunately, the fridge section doesn't get cold. Freezer works great, but fridge stays warm.

Update - doesn't cool at all. Compressor is scorching hot and both the freezer and fridge are warm. Now I need to haul it back to Walmart myself. Junk.

Received mine with some dings thru the metal finish, not enough to bother with a return on a basement fridge.
However, mine did have to be returned due to the condensation others have mentioned forming and dripping down the back wall was so excessive I had to wipe down the fridge twice a day to keep puddles from forming. There is also a drain at the bottom to rout this water onto the floor, so they know about this issue. Liked it otherwise.

My dad's still using the original ktichen fridge from 1989 in his garage. It works... miraculously... through Texas summers pretty well. Energy consumption didn't seem out of this world when I checked with a kill-a-watt, either, but I'm sure there are more efficient options today.. they just may not last as long.

Last time i tried to order this from Walmart my order was cancelled. So i ordered one from AliExpress for $126, and it was delivered in 6 days via Fedex. It was shipped with no damage and has been in service for 3 months now! def the way to go
