I'm happy to have the 7-1/4 brushed model. It can exchange blades with a circ saw. This is great if you have a 10" table saw.

I picked this up from a hackable deal for 167 OTD with a 4 amphr battery a month ago but still a slapping deal on that with the stand. Even at 299 still a great value

I'm a huge ryobi fan but their lineup of sliding mitre saws are trash. Too much deflection in the blade and the 18v only versions eat batteries.

This is such deceptive marketing by home depot. I got exactly this saw and the regular stand separately in October for 235 combined. The saw on its own was 150.69 and now they have doubled the price of the saw to 299 and then added the stand for free.

And if you look at the details at the Quickstand 179 vs the regular stand 89, there isn't much difference. the 179 one is just branded as the universal stand but the regular stand fits the ryobi 10n saw so I do not understand why would anyone buy the more expensive quickstand.

I wish there were deals on the 12in saws.

Got the 10" non cordless one for a net of $25 on a two ✌ pack contractor slickdeal a few months ago (sold the other for 200).

I like it and works well, using the sliding options takes skill.

The one I have has the shadow line for cutting and works great.

Unless you are really crunched for space, I'd go for the 10" model. You can cut 1x12s in a single (sliding) pass and also go through 4x lumber without flipping.

I've yet to bog it down, and battery power is convenient if/when you need it. The included 4ah battery lasts long enough… plus I have backups, so not a big deal for me.

It's probably worth swapping in a better blade right away, but that's the case for almost any saw.

Just my 2 cents.

I've had this exact saw for about 3 years now and that hasn't been my experience at all with blade deflection or battery usage. I love it and can't recommend it enough. It's probably the most reliable and precise tool I own. My only complaint is that I can't see the laser guide when working in sunlight.

This saw was released in 2022 and doesn't have a laser, so are you thinking of the 7 1/4 in one (although, I don't think that has laser either)?

That said, I have this and think it's great. No issues with blade deflection. I typically use a 6ah or 9ah, and they seem to last a long time.
