Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.
So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.
Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

Just got an email from straight talk that one of my orders was cancelled. Anyone else?

Ordered from the website early this morning when it first popped off.
Straight Talk is just like Tracfone (same company) - They frequently will cancel if ordering more than 2 - or if ordering without a plan when deal requires purchasing a plan - they may be cancelling orders that slipped through earlier. Wouldn't be surprised to see more cancellations as the day goes on and their computer catches up.

Could someone help me with my question? If 55 days pass and with 5 days remaining until the 60 days of unlocking, I leave the country, would the unlocking still be automatic? Or is that as long as I am within the U.S? I would appreciate if anyone could help me with my question.

Store employees seem to be totally inept. Was told last night they had 7 of the ST SE's in stock. Today, the guy in electronics claimed to have zero. He was wrong and realized it after I made him check. So I bought two and two $35 plan cards.
Can't get either of the plan cards to be accepted with either phone. ST says the store isn't scanning them correctly. Store seems clueless but gave me two more pins to try. No luck.

ST website says the pins are no good. Anyone else run into this issue.
Happens all the time, both need to be scanned into the system (phones & cards) before they will be usable - you're right, the employees at your store are poorly trained.

I give up. Every time at checkout it's just insufficient inventory error.

Congrats on those that got it earlier today.

Website said none in store, but there actually was a bunch. I got 2 with the $35 plan for each in store.
Do they make you activate it in store? What info do they need?

not a problem, should be automatic - one of mine unlocked over the weekend & I just happened to check under status & it was already done, they don't send a notice.

They sold the phone and service plan, but i don't think they're activated yet. They needed unique individual email addresses, so I created a couple quick so that it would go through. They did one phone at a time.

I'm curious for those who got in but checked out with the bronze plan. The language was later updated to require silver.

Looks like their site is getting hammered with people like me refreshing and maybe bots and such too. Can't even get the listing page to properly load anymore.

Worked like a top.

Went to WM

I said "I want this deal" showed them on phone.

WM: Didn't know about this?

Me: Please try it.

WM: I think it requires the $55 plan.

Me. Scan the $35 one first.

WM: (Shaing their head) OK

Clickety Clack on keyboard...

WM: Guess it is a valid promo and the $35 does work...

Me: Paid and left.

The End
So you just had a regular walmart employee scan the $35 card and promo popped up for the phone? You didn't need to have a StraightTalk rep there?

Should be interesting to see if any actually ship, wouldn't be surprised if Straight Talk screwed something up by selling them online when they should have been only in stores.
