Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I was charge $45+ $49 at the Vegas Walmart store. I guess it's the activation fee...or port line fee
Looks like they sold you the $45 plan instead of the $35 plan. Either one will work.

Is it possible to add the phone to a TFW account?
I think I saw that someone was able to activate on TF, but why would you?

It's a serious question. I have a TF account and I'm wondering if there is a good reason to merge everything.

Is there any problem if I use the sim on another phone? Especially with unlocking the SE? I just swapped back and unlock text to 611611 said I'm using my own device Frown
As you see, there is. There's always a few ton these deals that do this. i don't understand it.
follow the advice on post 2766, 2767. Tell them you made a mistake. If they can't help, call the unlock department, they have people that are very helpful. Have all the information from the purchase ready/

If you do sell the phone early its locked to the straight talk account its active on. You have go on website and click remove device so it can be activated on different straight talk account.

You corrected the cell to sell, but it is a cell I want to sell, lol

Thanks for the tip

Do you think it affects unlocking removing phone from account or should not matter, as long as phone was activated?

Need clarification on this, I can't activate my phone after purchasing the 35 dollar plan. Its on the receipt but i never received a physical card and cannot locate the 15digit pin. Straight talk customer service has not been able to help

Go back to Walmart and complain. I ordered online and the sim card with the plan was taped to the box

If I buy 2 phones, do I have to provide 2 different email addresses? Or can I use the same email to activate both?

If buying from Walmart, I'd give them two different email addresses to be safe. Some have said that it gives them an error for a duplicate email and one user reported that they just filled in a random email for the second one, so they can't log into the linked account. If you have a gmail, just give them [email protected] and [email protected] or something like that. Gmail ignores dots in the username, so those will both go to your single gmail account, but show up as two different accounts with ST. You could possibly try combining them later, but there shouldn't really be a need to mess with that.

FWIW... Ordered 11/6. Phone and $45 plan. CC charged. Still says pending remote fulfillment.

Yeah probably won't get the phone at this point but don't want to do a charge back unless I absolutely have to. And I don't want to call and deal with their inept back office.

I bet they're hoping people call to cancel their orders so they can sell more at the higher price.

I activated the phone yesterday and texted UNLOCK to 611611, but did not receive the unlock date. Received an updated unlock policy.

Thank you, and great suggestion to simplify by modding my gmail address. 👍

Do you have the paperwork? It should list the airtime code in it.

It seems like their back end systems have a hold.

Others say wait and they cancel. I don't know.
Some say calling and cancelling does something, or maybe not. Nobody really has good answers.

Same boat that I don't want to be banned, so I'm just waiting. Probably will call them again to see if they have any way to either push it through or cancel. Chargeback is definitely a last resort after waiting.

They need to do one thing or another eventually. Keeping money without any update is definitely shady.

do one more time. we all had to text the same thing twice to receive the unlock date. the unlock policy is an automated "welcome" text without texting them anything
