Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

I stand corrected….just received the $52.00 Visa credit for the canceled order. I canceled last Friday thru their dubious customer service center. For others that also canceled, you should begin to see refunds on your credit cards…hopefully.

Lot of bad information being thrown around. Disputing a charge because you didn't receive goods or services is 100% allowed. Look up your own issuer but some examples below with links.

PayPal dispute

https://www.paypal.com/bm/webapps...resolution [paypal.com]

"Problem with a purchase
Did something go wrong when making a purchase with PayPal? Did your order not arrive? Did something arrive that was very different than described? The first step is to dispute the transaction through PayPal. "

Chase - https://www.chase.com/personal/cr...ds/dispute [chase.com]

"Charge Error

A charge error is a transaction you recognize but appears to be incorrect, such as:
A recurring transaction or trial subscription you canceled
A product or service you never received or received late
A one-time purchase you returned or canceled, and you still haven't received a credit
A charge higher than the amount on your receipt
A product or service you received and are dissatisfied with
Your card was charged even though you used cash or a different card
The same card was charged more than once for the same transaction"

Amex - https://www.americanexpress.com/u...n-for.html [americanexpress.com]

If you have unrecognised charges from multiple merchants please call the number on the back of your Card as soon as possible.

You can dispute a transaction for the following reasons:

If you don't recorgnise a charge
If you don't agree with the charge amount, or you have been billed more than expected
If you have been charged more than once for the same purchase
If you have cancelled or returned the purchase
If you haven't received the goods or services, or the business cancelled your goods or service
If the received goods/services are not as described
If you paid with a different method of payment
If you'd like the documentation for your personal records
If you want to cancel a recurring billing charge, or you cancelled a monthly or recurring billing charge but you're still being billed after the cancellation date
Nobody says you can't dispute a charge or do a chargeback. That is why it is an option. It is supposed to the next option where the seller and buyer can't come to a resolution together. When one is dealing with a merchant refund, the buyer will receive the refund way quicker. Just like with ebay, they say communicate with the seller before you get the ebay (the middleman) involved and make a case. I hear chargebacks may get a user banned. There are many others who had very great experiences for years with straighttalk and is a current customer and don't want to be possibly banned because they did a chargeback.

There is a possibility that the product is shipped the day that you did the chargeback. When a customer receives the product and gets his money back from a chargeback, it is called fraud chargeback. I prefer to deal with the merchant before doing a chargeback. I have done chargeback for a $500 purchase for gasoline at a Nevada Airport. I live in NY. Obvious fraud or maybe some typo error.

I bought 2 on Sunday and another 2 today. Kind of tempted to get more.
Are you using a different email for each phone (4 so far) and each one is done as separate transaction correct?

Is there a way to see if autopay is on without creating an account with ST? I can't remember if autopay was enabled when I ordered mine online and I activated it over the phone.
Yes, talk with chat agent. for me, i was not able to activate but had ordered with autopay to get the discount. while activating it , had asked the agent to disable autopay and he sent otp and post reconfirming it, got it disabled.
then asked me to create account so i can track any payment or usuage details myself.

If we purchase instore does the phone need to be opened and sim put in in order for it to activate and 60 day unlock countdown to start? Or once the rep is done on the WARP system and then rings up on Walmart register phone is already activated and can wait 60 days for it to unlock? Anyone have previous experience with ST locked phones from Walmart before?

Your phone is already activated. This happened to me on my 6th and 7th phone. I was confused. Put the sim in the phone and it will work.
How do you get 7 phones when the limit is 2 per customer? Do you just go to the same Walmart several days in a row?

I think that is the best way to go if you want a refund rather than the chargeback which is much longer process and may get you banned. I had good experiences with tracfone/straight talk for years and I am a current customer so I don't want to be banned.

Still works. It seems like employees have been told the promotion ended on Sunday but the register will allow it.

I ordered one phone without plan from ST on 11/6, and today the ST chat rep finally stated the following
"Unfortunately, we were unable to process your recent order because it did not comply with the terms and conditions of our promotional offer."

and the chat rep said "The order has been cancelled and a refund has been processed."

"It should take a few days. However, you can contact our Refund department over the phone for better assistance."

To better assist you with your refund request, please contact one of our customer care representatives at 1-866-806-1840, our representatives are available Monday-Sunday from 8:00 AM to 11:45 PM EST.

4 phones with plans delivered or without plans?

I just barely missed that deal. I did get on the 4 pack that reduced the cost to $74 per phone. All phones have a plan

Bought the phone in store Walmart with $35 plan. Get back home and out the SIM card in, no service. Power cycled, reset, waited a day. Nothing.
I have the sim packet it came with, but activating online or over phone asks me for SIM PIN which I don't have.
How do I get the service to work?

What a joke Straighttalk is. I put in my order when the deal opened last Monday with a $35 plan. It was still in Pending Remote Fulfillment status.

Enough of that crap so I chatted and they couldn't cancel over chat. They did schedule a call at least 10 min later. Talked to the rep and they said they had already cancelled or were cancelling it after my request. Really unclear Frown the big joke was that since I wasn't a customer with a line on them, they could not tell me the cancellation # on the phone, text me it, or even email it to me even to my account that I setup for the order.

Told them that was ridiculous and that this whole mess would cause me to never be a customer of theirs and I'd tell others to stay away. F them and wallyworld (since I went into 2 stores as well without a clue to get the phone reduced)

2 separate emails for the first two. The second two, the WM guy didn't even ask. Separate transactions for them all.

They are holding your money and probably gettign interest on it, in turn your money cant be spent elsewhere during the shopping reason.

Sounds like a good case for litigation against Verizon
