Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

2 separate emails for the first two. The second two, the WM guy didn't even ask. Separate transactions for them all.
Do you know if we buy from Walmart instore do the phones need to be opened and sim put in in order to activate phone and start the 60 day unlock countdown? Or is it already activated by them at the store once they scan the SIM and check you out? I searched the thread and it is not very clear to me yet.

Yeah... I see a pending credit on my CC now. Never called to cancel my order. Sucks b/c I ordered 11/6 with a $45 plan. It's been pending remote fulfillment all this time. Oh well.

TBH, it's probably a good thing. ST changed the terms after the deal started and then raised the price, not honoring the deal. Crappy company to work with.

The A15 chip is a beast but the battery life is just abysmal. That's why this phone isn't as popular as you would think. I'll buy a portable power bank to lug around if I can manage to snag one of these at my local Wal-Mart.
The phone isn't that popular because the phone screen is just 4.7" screen. Lets be real and say that larger screen phones are more enjoyable and easier to type for lot of certain apps. However when I am outside the home, I am not spending much time browsing chrome or watching lot of YouTube videos so big screen isn't as a high priority. I don't do any demanding games especially for long time. Performance, carryability and comfort are shining points. The iphone se 2022 is a nice phone to pair with an iPad or a samsung tablet. I have a Samsung tablet and iPad and I prefer to use that over a large screen phone or iPhone se 2022 at home. If someone doesn't have a tablet or secondary large screen phone and expect to put lots of hours into the iphone se 2022 with watching Netflix movies, playing lot of games, streaming live sports, etc, it won't last that long. This phone does last a day and half with my use. With normal use, it should get a full day. If someone is a teenager with their head glued onto the screen with +7 hours screen time per day, the iphone se 2022 isn't right. However it is a nice way to help in trying to disconnect. People shouldn't be on their phones for those ridiculous amount of hours. Some people say that they got 8 hours screen time in a day from whatever phone and I'm thinking "You are pretty much on your phone for half the day you were up.".

* I am surprised how good I can type on a 4.7" screen. I thought it would be more difficult.

* I can stream my music during my pretty long workout and the battery will only drop like 6-7% which is much better than I expected. I am not talking about live fm like from tuneinradio as that is a monster drainer.

* Would I prefer an iphone 13? Sure but I just don't see the big bang for the buck right now with that. The iphone 11 is a nice option but the support won't be too much. I can't fault someone if they prefer the bigger screen of an iPhone 11and improved battery. I am still not the biggest fan of using 6.1" phone at home when I definitely enjoy the tablet and my 6.4"-6.8" screen phones at home.

I feel better to see others have the same experience of order canceled without even attempting to cancel. That is what happened to me so the rep on the phone said. 3-5 business days to see it. Now I just wait. I also ordered phone and $45 plan.

I am 100% sure that they are still selling $99 + plan deals too. I didn't even ask why my order was canceled. We all know why. Underestimating the demand.

Yup. They don't care about the optics. They saw how fast they were selling so they recalled as many orders as they could (I had never seen a retailer use UPS return system for product legitimately bought before), jacked up the price, and started selling again. Shady.

A refund for my order from 11/06/23 for two phones without plans shows pending on my credit card (without having done a chargeback) as of today 11/16/23. This order still shows as "pending remote fulfillment".

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice.. can't get fooled again

I didnt get fooled twice because I didn't purchase that phone. The odd thing about this deal is the walmart deal worked out perfectly for me and many others. The problem is the website has been a mess whether it be low stock, underestimating the demand or whatever. I ordered online first because I thought I had zero chance at walmart but then they did that restock on Friday thing.

I have gotten many tracfone/straight talk phones over the years, still a current customer and actually like their customer service and never had an issue until this online deal (pending remote fulfillment). I don't want to burn a bridge from a company that has been pretty solid to me.

According to some earlier posts, you do not need to unbox the phone if it is activated at Walmart. However, you may want to add the phone to a Straight Talk account just to verify that it is truly activated.

I got two of these phones from Walmart on Sunday. One worked fine, but the other one was not active 3 days later. I had to manually activate it via the web site (fortunately I had the paperwork with the activation code).

You may be one of the only people that liked TF customer service. I did many TF deals last year, and their CS was very difficult to deal with. They were nice enough as people, but their software systems and ability to solve problems was very limited. I eventually got all my issues resolved, but it took way more time and effort than I would have liked.

I don't why some are having issues. I just picked up two at Walmart and everything activated without issues. This is my 14th phone from the deal.

Another data point. Ordered 11/6. One phone with $35 plan, no pending credit yet. Another order two phones no plan, has pending credit. Never contacted them, have just been waiting to see how it plays out.

Which location if you don't mind me asking? Trying to get 2 for my in-laws & no luck
