Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

How did you activate your phone that you bought from Walmart?
Phone line and online activation are asking me for 15 digit SIM pin that I don't have..
I assume you got it figured out, but was going to post because I spent time scouring this thead to see because I had the same issue and never saw anyone else talk about it. It sorted itself out for me in a few hours and the plan automatically applied itself. I didn't have the PIN or card for it--just my walmart receipt showing I bought the $35 plan and the whole thing at the store seemed too easy.

I wasn't going to keep the service anyway but is it supposed to be throttled at 2mbps all the time?
Probably congestion in your area. SE3 on $35 plan (showing TFW 5G) is 91 Mbps. My 15PM on TMO G5G+ is 502 Mbps.

How long does it take to get the unlock date confirmation after sending the unlock text? Calling, data, and texting work. But it's been 10 min since I sent the UNLOCK text to 611611 and still no reply.

Edit: Thanks to the reminders below, I sent it again and got the confirmation back immediately.

sometimes you need to send it again. nonetheless, once you activate the phone the countdown starts. it doesn't matter whether you send "unlock" or not

Went to walmart to buy something else, but stopped by phone area and asked for this promotion.
Staff refused to do, said offers ended on last Sunday.
I asked the manager and showed him offer valid thru 11/26/2023. He called his boss and then sold as promotions.
Bought 2 phones (limit 2 per customer)
49.99+35+tax=total 97/per phone.
He activated but phones were not working. I went home and activate again.
In the papers he giave me, there is pin numbers.
Texted UNLOCK and both phones said automatically unlock on 01/16/2024

I actually just had that happen to me. The guy initially said the deal only works with the $45/mo plan (or higher), but I told him to try with the $35 plan (since this post implies it works with the $35 plan?). He started asking for my info, and then asked for my social, which I thought was odd ... He then said that with the $35 plan, my next payment would actually be $55, and with the $45 plan, my next payment would be $65, because this was a lease and I needed to pay off the rest of the phone... None of which I was prepared for. I've never used ST, so I wasn't even aware they had a lease option. I felt the guy had no clue what he was doing, so I just left. Does this deal only work with a $45+ plan, or did you do it with the $35 plan?
It worked fine with $35 plan. Don't let them con you. They're trying to do everything to discourage the sale and sway you to go postpaid ATT/TMO/Verizon

I went to Walmart to get a phone today. They had 2 on Monday when I went to buy (and got denied by store employee; wireless guy is off Monday and Tuesday) and even more today, I think at least 6 on the shelf. An electronics employee asked if he could help me, I told him I was interested in a ST iPhone SE3, he got one out of the case, and when I told him I wanted the $49 deal, he said the wireless guy would handle that. The wireless guy saw my own phone (which I had pulled out to let him read my email address in large font so he would input it correctly), asked my carrier, and when I told him Verizon, he proceeded to try to get me to buy the SE3 through my Verizon plan because it's 10 bucks cheaper right now. I said no thanks, he didn't push it, and then set me up with the ST SE3 on the $35 plan (which I specifically requested). Interestingly, he still managed to input my email incorrectly, so I had to create a new gmail with the one he assigned to my account. No biggie. Washington state charges sales tax on the full price of the phone, so I ended up around $102 out the door. I checked ST online account and phone status is active, but I haven't tried the phone yet by installing sim and powering on, so it doesn't show the phone model in my online account. Everything looks like it will work fine, but I have paperwork from Walmart if there's a problem. The wireless guy said he had heard of someone buying 10 phones and couldn't understand why they would buy 10 of this phone. I asked how they got around the 2-phone limit, and he didn't even know that there was one. I'll probably get another if this one starts up fine.

in my case it was a separate PIN printout, not on the receipt. i almost left before the guy remember to give it to me.
