Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

**I meant to type in 60 days, not 30 (my dumb**s read the unlock date of 1-18-24 as 30 days for some reason, instead of 60). My question mostly is: if I port out from ST on day 29, will that undo the unlock?? Or once it says my iPhone will be unlocked on 1-18-24, it'll be unlocked no matter if I port out before that date?
Why would you port out? Because the phone is locked for 60 days. You wouldn't be able to use the phone on another carrier outside of the Tracfone family of prepaid services. Most people do not have numbers with Tracfone carriers that they worry about losing or using. They are in it for the phone.

Porting out may affect the unlock and it may not. Most people just do 30 days and put the phone in the drawer for either 30 days or the full 60 days. I do things differently.

Do I have to wait for the phone to be unlocked before using it on Tracfone? I probably will anyway because their CS people are terrible and may screw up something.

I need help!

I bought 2 iphone SE's at walmart yesterday. Paid $101 each. The activation didn't work. The premium wireless guy told me to give it a few hours and come back today if it didn't work. Straight talk says they don't see a plan or activation for the phone. I got a refund on the 2 phones for $49/each. But customer service says they can't refund the plan money. Straight talk can't refund it because they say they didn't see it. The premium rep says he doesn't have any way to do it.

I'm out $50/each for the 2 phones and don't have a phone or a plan. What do I do?

I left a note for the manager but I suspect the employee is just going to toss it in the trash.

I called walmart customer service and they weren't able to help either.
I had similiar issue. I had purchased two online. Only one had a plan attached even though I had paid for two plans. I went ahead and bought an additional plan for $30 or $40.

Kind off figured at the price I am getting the two iphone SE it's worth it even if I had to pay $30-40 more.

So, ST employees at Walmart store are the only one that can do the deal, correct? Do you know if they're there at odd hours as well, like early evening? Thanks.

Screwed the pooch by opening up the box to activate my 2. Skysol has mentioned, no need to. However, always still do the website activation to make sure, since sometimes the store doesnt "Fully" activate and you need to finish it at home by entering the 15 digit pin (which dont leave the store without). I wish i had kept my 2 boxes sealed.

You cant do that since phone price will reduce from $149 to $49 only after its activated with straight talk in walmart. Only option had earlier was people ordered phone only for $49 and then activated $10 or $15 with tracfone

Anyone who ordered from ST using PayPal and order stuck in limbo received a refund? I talked to them twice but support was useless as usual.

I would port out for a potential port in deal somewhere else. I wouldn't be using this phone for the port (I have other phones for that). I was just wondering if porting out of ST "too early" would mess with the unlock in 60 days somehow
