Got my order for 2 phones delivered today, and got them both activated to start the countdown clock on the unlock. For anyone who bought one just to activate for the one-month plan you purchased and unlock, the easiest way is the automated phone service (the online process wasn't working for me):

1) 1-877-430-2355
2) Press 2 to Activate Device
3) Press 2 for a New Number
4) Follow voice prompt to enter IMEI, ZIP code, create PIN, etc. When asked by the prompt if you want to "add to an existing account", say "No". If you purchased a plan with the phone, it will recognize this and automatically activate the SIM for the plan.

When the voice prompt tells you to power on the device, the instructions were incomplete and unclear. If you've never activated a phone before here are the steps:

1) Attached to the box for your phone is the associated SIM card in a pouch; remove and punch out the nano-SIM.
2) Using the SIM tool in the iPhone box (or a small paperclip), pop out your SIM card tray and insert the nano-SIM.
3) Re-insert the SIM tray into the iPhone and power on the phone.
4) Go through the setup process; I recommend connecting to WiFi when prompted to make things go faster.
5) Your phone should be activated within a few minutes of being powered on with the SIM inserted, assuming you went through all the steps in the automated phone activation.

So no luck at Tega Cay, SC Walmart. They did have at least 2 in stock. The guy was nice looking into it for 30 mins or so. He finally found out the Walmart had to have the WARP system for in-store phone activation so call up or local Walmart to ask if they have that. He mentioned the store in Rock Hill, SC on Dave Wylie had the WARP system.

I'm not going to waste my time going there, but thought I'd help others. Be sure to call the local Walmart you are going to, ask if they have the phone in stock (both stores said online they didn't have stock, but both stores did have them in stock) and ask if they have the WARP system for activation. Good luck everyone.

Yes done it three times now. Use it a few times with the straighttalk network for a few days first though. Text, call, browse then 61 days later unlocked.

My phone always shows LTE and no 5G. It has been running for days. I guess no 5Gbands for ST.
Don't worry about it if you picked the $35 plan you're hard throttled at 2mbps all the time

(I have 5G showing)

Depends on your location. I usually see around 25 Mbps on 5G when I've done speed tests, although I'm sure they'll probably throttle it once I hit the "high speed data" allotment. Not really 5G speed, but works for casual use

I ordered 1 phone with the $35 plan, they canceled it without actually telling me. I did a Paypal dispute and got my money back within a week or so.

I ordered a 2nd with the $45 plan, and got around to opening it up and trying to activate it. I never got a $45 service plan with the UPS package, so when it asks for PIN or whatever I have nothing to enter. I called ST and they say they have no record that I ordered a $45 plan, just the phone!

Dispute put in to PayPal for the whole amount, let's see what happens.
their customer service is very bad. All they have to do is look up the order number and reload the plan to the phone.

I won't be extending the plan. I think Visible is better.

We need to call them and ask them to unlock it, will be done in a day and no questions asked.
Straight Talk said: to unlock you need to call straight talk on your phone after 60 days.

DP: I called Straighttalk yesterday to cancel my order that was probably never going to get fulfilled. The rep processed my refund and I just got a notice today from Paypal that the money was refunded.

I know I could have done a chargeback or a paypal dispute but nice to go this route and (hopefully) not nuke my relationship with them.

EDIT: My order is still "pending remote fulfillment" even though I got my money back.

lucky you, I called last week Monday and was told it will be refunded soon, still nothing from my Paypal, should I continue to wait or start a PP dispute?

Personally, I'd wait since we know Paypal will work if you have to pull that lever but you may also get blacklisted from deals like this.

Also, did you get a confirmation code when you requested the cancellation? Try calling to ask what happend to it

No, they won't provide a confirmation code or an acknowledgement email. The first agent accidentally hung up on me and the second told me to work with Walmart for the refund, the third agent said they will refund me. But I will take your suggestion and wait until the end of this week.

You may have to call again if the agent wouldn't give you the confirmation code. I know they can give one and that's the only way I was confident I'd get my refund since mine gave me a code.

Edit: I called the main number: 1-877-430-2355

I follow your instruction for the first part by calling the phone number and I heard that your service is activated. Do I have to open the account to turn it on and inset SIM card? Is this a necessary step to get the phone activated?

Your service is activated. You do not have to insert the sim if you want to keep it boxed up. You can verify activation by attemtping to access your account online by using your email that you signed up with. You will see the number of days of service remaining. The phone will unlock in 60 days. You can also verify activation by inputting the IMEI at sickw.com and you can revisit that site in 61 days to verify the unlock.
