Just to expound on this.

VA panels have better contrast, but worse viewing angles from the sides (image gets more washed out). IPS and ADS/ADS Pro which are related have worse contrast, so think lifted black levels, but better viewing angles. I've seen the 75" U8K at best buy and it wasn't impressive for contrast imo, it looks washed out compared to something like the TCL QM8, but it does have a ton of other benefits besides that. I'd say for LCD TVs the U8K in 55", 65", and 85" are the best choices out there today, but for 75" I'm not sure there's a winning LCD TV this year in the US, the U8K has poor contrast, the QM8 has horrible brightness tracking for HDR which destroys star fields and makes images inaccurate, and Sony didn't make a true new flagship 75" for the US this year.
Let's name our 4K TV "U8K"
Note that the 75" U8K has an ADS-PRO panel, all other sizes have VA panels. Most people prefer VA.

I would recommend researching ADS panels to see if it fits your use case.

Run and don't walk to grab this deal. That's an amazing price for an extremely well reviewed 75'' TV. Nothing comes close at this price point.

Costco gives additional warranty without any fee which could easily cost > $100 otherwise. That could be something else to consider as well.

Costco doesn't sell u8k

I had picked up a u7k from Best buy, returning that and getting U8K from walmart.

One of the major differences - more dimming zones and 1.5 times brightness

Additional $5 off through chase rewards - https://slickdeals.net/share/iphone_app/t/17036638

It's not a Sony flagship, but the X90L has been getting raves from reviewers I trust. They give it equal to or better than marks to the U8K and QM8, despite it not being MiniLED. It's a Sony and that means excellent upscaling and processing of mediocre sources like Netflix, cable boxes, satellite, etc. It has the Sony XR Clear technology, which is a massive improvement. The 65" is currently $1099 and the 75" is $1499. The 75" was released at $1999.

To see a quality 65" Sony at the same price as a TCL is amazing. The 75" Sony is actually $200 cheaper than the 75" QM8!!!

True, but the x90l does struggle with black levels and blooming due to the limited zones, and also doesn't get nearly as bright for impactful HDR performance. It's not a bad TV, but it's performance (beyond amazing Sony processing) is far more in line with something like the u7k than the U8K, which is why it's able to be priced close to the U8K, but is a solid 50% or more, more expensive than the u7k at 75"

If you watch the videos I linked you'll see they compare the X90L directly with the U8K and QM8. Blooming is minimal with direct viewing, a bit more obvious off angle. Which is true of most LEDs.

Minor blooming doesn't bother me. Even minimal soap opera drives me insane. No one can beat Sony when it comes to motion processing. TCL is what to avoid if you hate SOE like I do. It's very hard to kill it with a TCL. Hisense gives you more options to avoid it.

I have been waiting for the U8K and the TLC QM8 to go on sale, so brought without a beat. This price is the same BF price for U8h last year.

I don't want spend more for $2k+ LC C3 or Samsung S90 screens because I can't tell the difference and I want android tv

You could go with the x93l if you want to spend more. But I'd take the x90l at least over this any day.

Absolutely ignorant post. TV has a 2 year warranty for that worst case.

That's a totally fair suggestion, though that model is basically a rehash of last year's flagship, still probably better than the U8K and QM8 even if somewhat marginally, but that's even pricier than the Samsung S90C QD-OLED, since their own site has it for 2k for AAA members. That's the option I went with in the end, at least for one of the two TV's I need to upgrade

The X93L doesn't have the new Sony XR Clear software. That is a big FU from Sony.
