Just to expound on this.

VA panels have better contrast, but worse viewing angles from the sides (image gets more washed out). IPS and ADS/ADS Pro which are related have worse contrast, so think lifted black levels, but better viewing angles. I've seen the 75" U8K at best buy and it wasn't impressive for contrast imo, it looks washed out compared to something like the TCL QM8, but it does have a ton of other benefits besides that. I'd say for LCD TVs the U8K in 55", 65", and 85" are the best choices out there today, but for 75" I'm not sure there's a winning LCD TV this year in the US, the U8K has poor contrast, the QM8 has horrible brightness tracking for HDR which destroys star fields and makes images inaccurate, and Sony didn't make a true new flagship 75" for the US this year.
Let's name our 4K TV "U8K"
Note that the 75" U8K has an ADS-PRO panel, all other sizes have VA panels. Most people prefer VA.

I would recommend researching ADS panels to see if it fits your use case.

Checked Consumer Reports and the Hisense scored a 69 and wasn't recommended. The only 2 brand new 75 inch TVs around this price that were were the Sony X90k (75) and the X85K (71). Microcenter sells the refurbished X90K for $799. The X90L scored a 76 and everyone has it on sale for $1,500 right now.

Did you get a 75 inch u7k? How bad is it?

I picked up a 65" u7k and now 65" u8k. It's for my closed out patio. Brightness will definitely be appreciated.

U7k isn't bad, for the price I just chose to return and purchase u8k

You shouldn't buy open box TV, especially $1700-1799. If you can spend that much, you should get new TVs.

I don't know what Consumer Reports is smoking. The X85K and X90K are nowhere close in contrast, black level, screen uniformity, blooming control, brightness, HDR Specular highlights to the U8K. The X95K, X93L and X90L are a different story. Something is afoot.

There's more to a tv than just the picture quality. Sound quality, reflection handling, software, viewing angles, the remote, sdr performance, ota tv performance, how thick and heavy the tv is, the port selection, how well it handles motion, ect,. They noted slight display nonuniformity in the Hisense and the sound quality wasn't the best. Neither was owner satisfaction.

??? U8K has fairly good upscaling, not on the level of Sony XR Clear, but XR Clear is not on the sets you mentioned. It has very good reflection handling, quality sound, same viewing angles, and atsc 3.0. It's probably thicker though. If we are talking about Sony 2023 or X95K, then there are good reasons to consider them. The X90L is a superior tv to the X85K/X90K and is close in price to the U8K.

They rated the Sony 90K and L as having excellent UHD performance while the U8K got a very good. And all the Sony's rated very good for sound quality while the U8K was only good.

And the atsc 3.0 is cool but it's only gonna get you 1080p at the most. 1080i looks just as good. Read an article and they said it cost too much to put ota programming in 4K. So you MIGHT see ota 4K only a few times a year, if that. MAYBE something like the Superbowl.

I am interested in comparing the 65 inch U7K and U8K, but my local BB stores only have a much larger U8K on display that is playing programed material. Yes it looks very spectacular on that display, but I don't know what it would do typical movies and broadcasts that I normally watch.

Consumer reports rated all TVs on many factors and all the top ratings tended towards OLED sets. They have great blacks and contrasts, but they are also twice the price.

68 for the UK8 and 63 for the UK7. If you live near a Microcenter they frequently have good deals on Sony's and Samsungs, if you don't mind refurbished. They had the 65 inch X90K for $550 and i grabbed a 65 inch QN85A for $750. Mine looked brand new and it still had 5 years of warranty left as it was the Costo version.
