I use mine for a few things. It can identify hot spots on a bad circuit board. It can tell me how evenly food is cooked, or how well it's cooling. It's great for finding poor insulation spots. FYI: windows mostly act like mirrors to infrared, so you mostly see the temperature of yourself if you point it out or at a window.

Useful tool to have around but very low resolution. I have the $400 ff version that's slightly higher res and better fps but it's still too low res if you want to find the smaller temperature variances.

When I try to place my order it says "Do not honor. Do Not Honor"

Edit: Nevermind, got it to go through with a Visa. apparently Amex doesn't work even though it displays the logo.

I bought one several years back, completed my draft sealing project with it, and then sold it. A couple times a year some project comes up where I wish I still had it. If you have the wiggle room in your budget and you've been toying with the idea, get it.

You can use them to find where your pet peed, or dog poo in fall leaves. Pretty low res on this one, I have the micro USB version and you can just throw it on a micro/c OTG adapter and It works with new phones. Ok for some home improvement stuff, but easy to misinterpret.
