The future of Fitbit looks bleak to me. This is the only Fitbit item lunched this year. Three were released last year… Alos, this literally came out a month ago (October 2023) and is already being heavily discounted?
Oh, and this article… Nothing is mentioned about Fitbit in the USA, but… Maybe BestBuy knows something and is dumping them. 🤷 ♂️ Just a thought.
From DigitalTrends:
"Fitbit products are no longer being sold in 11 countries in the EU, including Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, and Slovakia. The products have also been pulled from five locations in the Asia-Pacific region: Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. According to Tech Central, Fitbit products are also being pulled in South Africa.
And it doesn't stop there. As spotted by 9to5Google, a separate support page from Google indicates that Fitbit products are no longer being sold in Mexico or any other markets in Latin America. That includes Agentina, Chile, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Peurto Rico, and Venezula. Fitbits were previously being sold in all of these countries, but they've since vanished from thin air."
Regarding the falling prices, my guess is that the model is to sell them cheap and make it up in subscriptions. I hate the idea of buying a watch/fitness tracker that requires a subscription to work...

It's almost like Google might have another product that they want to push instead. Like maybe they've been forcing Fitbit users to migrate over to Google accounts now. Like the Pixel watch is literally a better looking Sense 2 with battery life that doesn't compare.

I pre-ordered this because of some paid good reviews on YouTube. Then it was released and the real reviews started popping up and showing dumb issues and limitations .. when mine arrived I returned it unopened and got a Galaxy watch 6. A $60 price drop already is embarassing
It's concerning that Android markets which lead globally disappear and you rely on the US for sales especially considering that IOS has a 58% share in the US and those users aren't going to buy this. So you basically are down to 40% of consumers buying this, buying nothing or buying a superior Pixel or Galaxy watch.
i'm in the market for one of these, but the current reviews and subscription turned my off fitbit…any recommendations for something in this price range thats not too bulky (more band/less watch)?
Charge 3 crapping out on me twice after about a year ended my relationship with Fitbit. I tried the Apple Watch but hated the app compared to Fitbit. Been without a tracker for about a year and feel kinda free now lol

Be aware that the original Venu SQ has a lousy display (IMO). I bought one at discount, and returned it because the display was so crappy (low-res). The Venu SQ 2 has a much improved display -- comparable to the Fitbit Versas and Senses. But of course it's still nearly impossible to find the Venu SQ 2 for less than $250, at least until the Venu SQ 3 comes out.
I have this on my wrist right now, been using it for the better part of a month.
Pros, lightweight and easy to use. It's helped me keep track of my activity, sleep and be more accountable with my health. I've lost 10lbs this month doing low intensity cardio and weight training with calorie and macro counting. Feel better than I have in years. Battery life is GREAT.
Con, very limited options for customization and feels very basic.
Overall, Bought at full price and think it's a good watch.
Now I'm going to actually try out the Pixel 2 tbh but might grab another one of these for $100 to have. Not sure.
