1. Get one number for phone calls and texts ONLY. You are known to others (friends, banks, insurance companies...) by that number. Use a very cheap plan that has little to no data for it.
2. Get another number for data ONLY. Switch to the cheapest you can find every a few months. You are always a new user because you don't need to port in your number for it.

Not if you have a "dual SIM" phone.

With two SIMs active in one phone, you can use one for calls/texts, and the other for data.

do u have a list of phones with dual sim? pixel 8 pro has two sims? thanks
The Pixel 8 pro has a slot for a physical SIM card, and supports eSIM.

Just google the name of the phone you're interested in, along with "dual sim." e.g. google "pixel 8 pro dual sim"

Im running boost on tmobile. Eventhou I dont have a real tmobile to compare I feel like it is slow sometimes. I just expected more on a 5G. Not streaming or anything just regular use.

its fine for me, cause it works. just wondering if anybody else experienced that. Also I thought they alternate to att depending on network availability..

Yesss I have been using these 3 month cards for 18 months now! Cheapest possible plan, $5 for 5gb every month.

I have been buying them from Best buy since boost came out with these...ported my main # to Google voice, and every 3 months I pop a new one of these sims in, register, takes 2 min, new throwaway email and random name, address, and 2min later I have a new number, another 3 months of 5gb data, and unlimited voice and text, which doesn't matter since I'm using GVoice & only need the data really, but it is nice having a free new throwaway number every 3 months too..

OH AND another great thing, full speed hotspot, can share all the data at 5g speeds...unlike some companies.

I don't know why you need to enter credit card details... Are you really buying this plan from BoostMobile website? That is not advisable.
Buy it from Walmart, BestBuy or Target and you won't need to enter payment info when activating plan.
Lol right...I was thinking the same thing, why is he entering his credit card and even needing to use privacy

Yes, I'm doing exactly that. You create a different account for this plan.

I did the MVNO shuffle last year from Mint => Lyca Mobile ($5/mo for 3 months) => US Mobile (50 day free trial) and then hopped back to Mint during their previous BF special that lasted well into 2023.

After flipping the P7P from that deal, I have spent a net $33 for the last 18 months of service on a 5GB+ 5g data (hotspot included) w/ unlimited talk and text, all while keeping my number.

Mint has bundled 3 and 6 additional months free to heavily discounted 'current' handsets for their promos. I'm hoping for something similar next summer after my 3 months of Boost are up.

The package does NOT say that it's 5gb per month, the app says 5gb "capped", additional 5gb cost $15 not $10.

Not sure if you're part of the scam or just like to spread misinformation.

In every sim/data package they clearly say xGB/month, this one says $15(for the first 3month) gives you unlimited talk&text and 5gb of data. After that you can choose a plan with xGB of data per month.

Of course, you're encouraged to call boost and check, preferably after your have used your 5gb, and the 2nd month just started and no new 5gb was added to your account.
The answer from Boost Mobile in the Q/A section says it's 15 GB total (screenshot attached)

Can you buy this, then not activate until January? Got the iPhone SE deal and have to wait until January for it to unlock before I can use this.

LOL... check my history here... I have nothing to do with Boost.

Their plan is 5gb per month... check the threads over the past years, they all work the same way. They don't have a 5gb per 3 month plan. As for extra data, you are correct... $5 for 1gb, $10 for 2gb, $15 for 5gb. I work from home and am on wifi 97% of the time, so I've never need to purchase the add on.
