When doing trade in and using part of the purchase price with CC and part with Apple Gift Card balance, then the amount of gift card was used for the purchase will be credited back as gift card only.
Say you bought the iPhone for 1100 and paid $1000 in CC and $100 in Apple Gift Card. If Your trade in value is $400, then $300 will back as CC refund and $100 back to your gift card balance
In other words you can't covert your gift cards balance to cash through trade in route
I wanna note that yes they will refund the trade-in as a gift card balance but if you keep calling, eventually a rep who knows what they're doing will be able to apply it as a credit card refund and subtract the Apple balance. It took 3 calls before a rep said she could. The first two said it was against policy

That is not converting a GC to cash.

Converting GCs to cash would be using 1000 in GC and 100 cash, and expecting the full 400 to returned via Cash..

If you have Target GCs, can they be used to buy Apple/iTunes GCs online or in-store? I'm going to guess no but I want to make sure.

Whatever you do don't do it. Took me forever to get a refund of two compromised gift cards.

For those of you who think of buying these at Target store, please be careful.

I bought 20 gift cards last Thanksgiving at the store totaling $2000. I went home to redeem them and apparently they were already redeemed.

Stay away from the stores and buy them online from Target.com
Does anyone know how this happens? I haven't looked at a physical Apple/iTunes GC for a while, but don't most GCs have parts that have to be scratched off which you would notice?

On top of this, I thought the GC doesn't get activated until you purchase it, so how can the funds be stolen right after you buy it? Does it have a magnetic bar code someone could scan?

Another question. If you buy an Apple/iTunes eGC/GC and successfully enter into your Apple/iTunes account, are your funds safe or can someone who has somehow stolen your GC # still drain your funds later? I know if you enter a Target GC into Target.com, you can still use the GC in the store. In this case, it seems your funds are never safe if thieves are so sophisticated they can steal and redeem most GCs in stores through magic I don't understand.

Battery life on my iPhone X is wearing out and wanna get 15Pro max.
Any recommendations of Best color to get?
Don't lol. Stick with 12 pro max or 13 pro max. There is very little difference and unless your planning on using it play games, you DO not need that much power. Also iPhone 15 pro max for all the advertising about being good at gaming, exhibits thermal throttling issues when playing those triple a rated games.

you can buy apple products online or in store. I normally just store credits on my apple id it is easier to keep track. I carried a balance on my apple account for a few yrs now since I used the balance to pay for my subscription services. the only way it can be stolen is if hackers have your Apple ID and password

The whole reason people are going to stores to buy these is because there is a limit of 2 when doing it online? I would need 11 of these to get new iphone 15 pro so i guess its a risk i need to take unless creating multiple target accounts is okay?
is prob 2 per transactions

I once got a $1499 M1 iMac and a 150 dollar Apple gift card for 1169 after everything was done with a few of these deals together. IMO, only worth it if you enjoy the idea of sticking it to these giant faceless corporations. It was a huuuuuge pain in the ass
you saved yourself almost $350 and more... this should take no longer than an hour not sure where you could find a job that pays $350 per hour

From reading the last yrs thread, even if u add 2 X $100 GC, you only get one $15 target GC. Maximum transactions we can do is 2 for Apple GC offer. Could be different this yr but idk.
