AT&T chat (att.com) is closed on the weekend??
I tried calling the main AT&T wireless number and it said we purchased through a reseller so have to call them.
Then I tried the walmart AT&T reseller 855-516-2800, trying to cancel the account there.

Does anyone have advice for going through chat to cancel AT&T? (or is the answer obvious, call 611 on the phone to speak with cs to cancel?)

With the myAT&T app
Sign into the myAT&T app.
Choose More and then Manage profile.
Select People & Permissions.
Scroll to Transfer phone number and select Request a new PIN. Your Number Transfer PIN will display on the screen.
Good to know: Don't see People & Permissions? You may have to sign in to myAT&T from a browser.

Hi there,
I received my ATT iPhone 14 today. I followed the instructions to pay off the bill as soon as the phone arrived on my AT&T website. After that, I moved the eSIM to an iPhone 11. I can confirm that the iPhone 11 shows up in my AT&T.
Then I went to the unlock site. It asks "Do you have a mobile number from AT&T". I say No. It then asks to input the IMEI number. It finds the IMEI as an iPhone 14 plus.
When I click submit I get the following error message:

"You can't unlock your device until your installment plan is paid off. If you pay off your device as part of your monthly bill, wait until the start of your next bill period to unlock it.
Want to pay off your device early? Make sure your number has been active on the device for at least 60 days. Then, sign into your account to review and pay off your installment plan. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit a new unlock request."

I don't know what to do. Should I wait 48 hours (I have tried twice already)? Or should I move the eSim back to this phone?

yeap, your best bet it ask them to ensure it is in the system and properly activated.

so i think there is the difference between activation and transfer devices. When i call CSR they said activation costs $35 to activate the IMEI that tight to the number you open. And transfer the device is just manually putting the IMEI on the eSIm so you can use it.
Hey StrongLamar,

You are awesome man... I exactly followed your instructions like below..... it worked for me.... both phones (iphone 14 plus ATT) unlocked... more or less similar timeline like yours... now I need to cancel the ATT lines. Thanks.

Here is my process and step with ATT
Nov 24th 11 AM: Bought iPhone 14 plus at store
Nov 24th 11:30 AM: Log into MyATT and pay off the phone
Nov 24th 2 PM: Perform the eSIm swap, i transfer the eSIm from my Ip14+ to my Ip13. make a couple calls and ensure it show up under my new line in myATT portal
Nov 25th 10 AM: Request unlock as NON-ATT member and got apoproved. dont forget to click confirm email then wait 2 minutes, the approval should go thru.

Not sure how to ask them if IMEI is in ATT database, the rep would be like why are you asking, what are you asking? And I would have to explain I saw the error on the unlock page. Should I just switch back to the iPhone for now even though it will require store visit switching back to Android
You can just ask them if the phone IMEI is properly activate. Last time I told them my schedule is tight and I need to ensure it will satisfy 60 days requirement so I can unlock the phone to use on my upcoming international trip.
Or you can ask them you want to activate the iPhone and they will happy to help. Since you already pay $35 activation fees for the line anyway

It takes some time to register the pay off. You will see it in myatt app after an hour to 3 hours. Then you can unlock.

Do not submit more than 2. You will get lock out.
The reason you get that error because you just pay off the device today. Give the system 24hrs to process the payment before you can submit request to unlock.
