Requires AT&T service and phone payment plan. You may want to include that in your title.

So wait, you believe this wasn't bill credits? It's likely bill credits spread over the 3 years with no cost, assuming you keep your line. Please triple check and confirm.
Too good to be true. I looked at the invoice again and you are right. Under "Due monthly $0.00" and in very fine print (I am a senior with bad vision and had to blow it up on my monitor) it says "Price for 36 months....after $27.78/mo bill credit". Time to cancel my order, thanks.

No luck with this either.

When I tried to submit a request using my phone number, I got a message:
"We're sorry, but we can't unlock your device just yet. Submit a new unlock request after your service has been active for at least 60 days."

I think I am just going to cancel the line, and find a friend who has had a service with them for more than 60 days. Smilie
Actually this is good news. You should be able to swap eSIM to the unlocked iPhone again and request the unlock as a non-Att customer now.

Wait until the device (the unlocked iPhone) shows up in your account, and make a phone call with it. Then request the unlock.

I've used my two unlock attempts for today, so I can't do that right now. I've ported my number out to cancel the service. I will try another unlock request tomorrow night when I am able to submit again. I will update here if it works or not.

Is S23 still on the deal? Or is it only for S23 plus? I am not seeing S23 on the walmart website. Anything changed?

I too got the same error when I used the esim in the locked iphone 15 and tried unlocking as att customer. I also used up the 2 attempts for today. Since I got the line on Friday Im assuming the 3 day cancellation window closes tomorrow. So I'll try the unlock again tomorrow.

Yeah that's unlikely to work since the new iPhone was associated to the line that was open <60 days. Still may be possible to unlock by putting on a friends >60 day line and submitting unlock as non att customer..

That's only for the taxes.. Device will be on an installment plan.

I paid off my ATT S23 this afternoon (around 5 hrs back). swapped the sim to another unlocked phone and new unlocked phone is now showing in my account.

I just tried submitting unlock request and got this error.
"You can't unlock your device until your installment plan is paid off. If you pay off your device as part of your monthly bill, wait until the start of your next bill period to unlock it.
Want to pay off your device early? Make sure your number has been active on the device for at least 60 days. Then, sign into your account to review and pay off your installment plan. Wait 48 hours after you make your final payment to submit a new unlock request."

how much do I have to wait to submit unlock request after paying off my phone ?
Does the phone show as paid off in myatt app (or att.com)? It should show upgrade eligible/paid off. Then you can SIM swap and request unlock..

Thank you for the reply. One last question, Walmart says my device will arrive by dec 6? Do i need to signup on Verizon for account creation or I'll receive an email to do so? When should I payoff the entire amount? - after my device ships?

Yesterday I went to store and went to electronics department where they sell the mobile phones. The CSR over there told me that they can't do this service, it is done by "Premium" guy and he left about an hour back. What are my options? Is the deal still possible? I have a complex situation and can't do online. I want to add a line and give one of the existing phone to that while doing trade in a phone for an existing line and get iPhone 15.

But this is expected when you try to unlock with phone tied to account. The trick is to now move the service back to the other phone, give it a little bit, make some calls etc , then try the unlock again as "not a customer" with IMEI

Edit: Sorry , realize this was already replied to as I continued reading thread

Maybe this was answered in the 100+ pages, but hopefully someone can help me out with my question.

Re: ATT iPhone, I went all the way to the end of the checkout process on Walmart.com for an iPhone 15 Pro but I did not see anything regarding trading in my old device during the checkout process. How do I go about trading my old iPhone in for the bill credits? If I try to upgrade my iPhone on ATT's site, it gives you an option to trade in your old device but not going through Walmart's checkout process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. I was able to submit two separate trade-in requests for the two phones that I bought and chose store drop-off option. Only thing I am not sure is how will they apply credits to what device, especially if the credit value is different. I plan to ask the question to store employee later today.

Please let me know how it goes from your end. Thanks.
Dropped off all 3 trade in phones at one of the local Verizon company stores this morning. Verizon rep turned the phones on to verify they were at setup screen. (I.e. Customer data erased and device activation lock disabled with Apple.) They printed and handed me 3 receipts as (backup) proof the trade in phones were turned in.

As for which credit goes with which line of service - I don't know that it will matter unless you change plans before the 36 monthly credits have been paid out. I assume they would stop paying out TI credits for a particular line of service if you changed that line to a lower tier or if you canceled the line.

Just a general note for others reading this thread...

Both ATT and Verizon's purpose for offering interest free payment plans and/or high value trade in offers is to get customers to sick with their postpaid service for 3+ years.

They use to hand out $~300 - $400 phones for free with 1 year contracts. This moved to 2 year contracts as smart phones got more expensive. Many years ago they also paid out a ~$300 commission per new line of service to their sales partners, but I'm told this number has gone down over time. Other than interest free financing plans (backed by apple in the case of iPhones), the US carriers have moved away from "contracts".

The carrier payouts are baked into the monthly service charges of what ever their current high/medium/low service plans might be. If you are on one of their (pricey) post paid plans and are NOT taking advantage of free/subsidized phones and/or high trade in credits on *EVERY* "renewal" cycle, you are leaving money on the table.

Most of the difference in monthly service pricing between MNVO pre-paid, carrier pre-paid, and carrier post paid plans is these payouts. If you are not taking advantage of these payouts (via free phones / high value billing credits) you will almost always be better off on a pre-paid plan. And as many others have discussed in related threads, in some cases you are better off with a MVNO anyway....

Food for thought.
