Even after reducing the animation time via dev options and uninstalling apps, still a bit slow and clunky.
The cool thing is that you can side load a certain YouTube app that block ads.

Ok, I dont have another code to test at the moment , I knew it worked on 1080 version
If it was for myself, and I could not get the CCwGTV 4k version for less than $30, Id get the Onn 4K version for now as Google is overdue for releasing a better version, When the new version is released and goes on sale Id get that and then move the Onn to a secondary TV.
In other words I would not waste money on the deal in this thread unless it was slicker and the coupon worked --- the main things I am looking for are more storage and better processor

Now today, it seems the 1080p chromecast is still showing 19.99 whether I use my account or testing using a private window, basically, no additional $10 promo is being applied.

Its hit or miss. I have about 6 gmail accounts. They sent me a code on one on their own about 6 mo ago and it worked in cart but I passed and then it said expired
Then recently I signed up for the emails with another code and didnt get anything
Then based on the posts last week I signed up again with another account, any account I had subscription on , I turned off for future use (not sure if it will ever work) but one code came through. If you get a welcome email check it for code. Also check spam though I would think Google is smart enough to avoid their own spam detection
So TLDR, maybe create a new Google account and check emails carefully - it could also be a timing thing on Google's part, maybe the deal just doesnt last
I would get the Onn. I would not buy a Google Device for $38 when it is overdue for a new release.
Why do you want to cast Netflix, why not just stream direct?
