This is my installation in case anyone was curious what they looked like

This was a little over 200' total.

I have the 100 ft kit but did a lot of research beforehand. The power supply included in the kits will only allow for the max of 150 feet. If you attempt to chain additional strings, the lights will flicker or not even light up from what I've read. Solution is to buy multiple kits and plug them into separate outlets and use the app to sync the different kits so they behave as one.

I own 30 different Govee products and I love them all and I love the company and their customer service is second to none. Govee hosts their own products on Amazon and works with Amazon. That's why the prices are the same but they are not always exactly the same. If you plan on buying more Govee products in the future, or you think you might, you won't get rewards points buying on Amazon but you will from their website FYI

I use e6000 glue on clips I attached to aluminum siding. Been holding for years and I live in the Northeast
Are these glue-on clips, or just normal clips where you use a particular glue?

I bound this 2 weeks back for 450$ and love it. Only caution is that install with extra clamps. Do not trust the adhesive (unlike advertised) to hold more than 2 hours Smilie .
Stupid Amazon not doing price adjustment; so doing return and repurchase now.
Can we purchase now and return the new product for returning the old order? I don't want to take down what we already installed..

1 is the end of my 100' run so there is nothing there
2 and 3 I created a splice using some 18 gauge three strand wire, some heat shrink butt connectors, and a heat gun. I can provide more details on this if needed
How long is the extension you created?

I had ordered a 150' kit this am. However I have a gable roof, where I would either need to split off, or add a 25' extension at the 100' mark to finish another 30'. Is there not a generic booster that would work? There are three signal wires, most of the boosters I saw were about $10, have +,r,g,b. One more wire than the govee's. I just went ahead and ordered another 100' plus a 50' kit. And will return the 150'.

I found it to be pretty easy. I had an existing outlet in my attic, so I put the controller there, and had just enough wire to reach. I drilled a 1 inch hole in the eaves to pass the wire from the attic to the eaves, and sealed with a grommet Then I ran the lights across the soffit with the included 3m adhesive on each one.

Afterwards, I bought a 300 pack of screw in clips from amazon to tidy up the wires in between each LED emitter. This reduces the weight on the adhesive for each light. If I fin the adhesive is failing over time, I can easily put a screw in clip on each side of each LED.

Overall it was pretty quick. I had the lights up and running in about 3 or 4 hours, and then had them all screwed down and tidyed up in a few more.
would you mind share the link for the screw? Thanks

I had my son create a 3 inch x 3 inch jig out of lego to make sure each light was the same distance from the house (this is super important as you want the cone effect to be uniform). I attached each light to the soffit under the eaves, first with the 3M adhesive and then a single mounting bracket that I linked in an earlier post. I also had to cut and splice in 4 locations to better fit my roofline. I can provide lots more detail if needed =)

Please more detail, since my house just like your. Thanks

I had two splices that were 8' and two that were 4'. I read that as long as they are under 10' each and the total run does not exceed 150' you shouldn't experience any issues. I can at least say that in my case the splices did not create loss of signal or brightness

Do you think staple gun would help add some support to the wire/lights? I have one at home and my only concern is will that go through the soffit and the staples being silver, will you see them. I can't find white staples.

The main piece of advice I would give is to at least have a rough measurement of your roofline. Each light strand is just about 16' long so knowing if you need a 12' foot extension to pass gaps in your roofline (Govee includes 1 blank extension cable with the 50 or 100' bundles) or if somewhat handy you can create splices using 18 gauge 3 strand wire is going to be important before you start putting lights up. Once you have things mapped out it really is as simple as just putting the lights up one at a time the same distance from your house for uniformity and then in my case going back to install one bracket per light for security

That is what I have done for other Amazon products and unofficially that is what I was told to do by a Amazon, rep many years ago lolol

Have done it a hand ful times no issue. For the older item, make sure you're within the return window/you will get the new product within return window
