I'm fairly certain Nintendo has never offered the OLED model at $300. They like to do bundles like this one in lieu of any price drop.
Perhaps not Nintendo, but Monoprice has offered the OLED model for $290 many times in the past. (OOS now but will invariably come back)

That was an imported version from the United Kingdom, probably because they were overstocked and also did not come with the correct power adapter for this country. You claimed that you aren't in the habit of comparing apples to oranges but this is exactly that.

edit: And yes, you may be able to find a non-bundle one cheaper now if you look around but the discussion was about what was run last year. Trying to move the goal posts doesn't mean that your original statement was not factually incorrect.
Monoprice's is US version

For the price it should include the physical copy.

Yeah, I'm well aware of that deal which came about more recently. That guy claimed that it was $299 last year though, which was false for a US version OLED model and I was simply disputing the veracity of his statement.

I didn't move any goal posts. I assert that a deal that tries to sweeten itself by including zero value is not a deal, that Nintendo has all but announced a new console next year, and that they have sold the oled switch hardware for around (and proven under) $300 in recent history. I'm not sure what angle you are after here.

I would never buy a console with an expensive digital download where I can't get the bits off. Physical copy or no deal, I'll just pay full price for the console.
Cool story, bro.

Why is this being downvoted? It is actually good advice.

I absolutely HATE physical, but for a Switch, physical is the way to go. You can resell or trade it in the future once you're truly done with a game.

Shame on Nintendo for trying to nickel and dime their customers. Digital should be cheaper.
Well, the game comes free with the console, so what's your argument?

No, you're straight up wrong. The fact that some retailer offered the console for less at some point doesn't mean that Nintendo has sold the console for less in the US, because that actually never happened. Also, offering one of the best selling and most critically acclaimed games available on the system for free is far from having no value. Not to mention that this bundle includes special edition joycon that some people can find enticing. Lastly, while it is very likely that Nintendo puts out a new console next year, that's rather irrelevant.

If you don't care for this deal, which is indeed the first official deal on the OLED model offered in the US, that's fair, but stop whining.

I am not arguing, Lol. I am saying if you're going to charge full price for a system, at least provide a physical copy.

The monoprice deal for $290 Monoprice + $40 Walmart physical Mario Kart deal is much better than this!

Dude, no video game company has offered a console bundle with a physical game for years.

I am not aware of this Monoprice deal. Is it for the OLED model?

Yes, it was on SD. It's OOS now but it will definitely be back. It comes back every so often. It's confirmed US, OLED model. Buying this will allow the person to buy a physical game of choice from Walmart's BF deal.

I never buy anything else physical anymore, but one can recover switch games' cost by selling once done

Dang, proprietary hardware sucks... I can't remember the last time I had to buy a physical disc for my PC. Maybe it was GTA San Andreas?
