I have the ADATA 2TB version using this controller (so I was able to at least update the firmware), but the InnoGrit IG5236 controller has issues that I don't believe ACER has released a firmware update to address:

Keep in mind that this has the infamous Innogrit controller. Seems though the issue of the controller bricking the ssd is still apparent to this day and Innogrit hasn't come up with a proper solution yet.

I have several SSDs now and if I had the money and a chance to reset time, I'd get replace all of my SSDs with the SN850X. Nothing has come close to the SN850X interms of reliability. Not even the 990 pro.

I have the 1TB version of this drive and when it was my OS drive, I had it crash, bsod and had to reinstall the OS. Even reinstalling had issues. I now use it as my game installation drive and yes, still having occasional issues where, the game would freeze or won't exit. I have to do a force exit. Uninstaller/reinstall the game in order to get it working. I'd had one time lost the whole game drive as Windows couldn't see it till I rebooted. It's not my pc, bc when I replaced the drive with the WD Black SN850X, everything works flawlessly. Now, it might be a lost cause trying to RAM this thing bc it doesn't happen all the time. Wish, I knew this before buying it last April. So buyer beware.

Avoid this drive at all costs. It WILL fail on you, just a matter of how soon.

Did you check thermals? I use my drive only as a game drive. No crashes yet.

Don't overlook the 4Tb Lexar NM790 on Amazon for basically the same price. The specs are comparable, the Lexar a tiny bit better. I went with that one, but this deal looks okay, too.

Will this fit in the second slot in a Dell XPS 15 9510? And if I buy this, will I not have to add a heat sink?
