i just bought this to change my air filters and some higher shelves. if you plan on using it FOR ANYTHING ELSE this is NOT the ladder for you. It's plastic and does not feel safe.

I saw an all metal version at costco for $5-7 more. get that.

I'd have to disagree with you. I have the same one (from back in the golden age a couple years ago when it was slick for $10) and it feels plenty sturdy.
I'm not going to do plyometrics workouts on it but I've done SEVERAL OTHER THINGS besides stand on it to change a filter.
That being said, it's solid but nothing special. Didn't think it was slick for $25 but decent for $20 if that's the best you can do these days.

This isn't a ladder. It's a step up (no pun intended) from a simple stool. Get it for the people that like to use chairs just because they're convenient. I got one of these for the MIL for Xmas a few years ago because she was one of those chair people. I have something similar to this on each level of my home so there's no excuse for stacking shit to climb on only to fall and get hurt.

the steps are plastic. the frame is steel. i weigh 200lbs
are you sure the steps are plastic?

I may have an older version of this but the steps feel metal to me. Otherwise this wouldn't be as heavy as it is.

people who claim that returning an item is "easy" never seem to have an issue with the time suck and annoyance of actually returning an item

like man, some of us are busy
Sounds like a personal problem

You'd be surprised how many people consider returning things a "hassle." My SO always kept her stuff from amazon and nordstroms. Showed her how easy it was making amazon returns at UPS (don't even have to print or box anything) while she gets her expensive ass coffee (another battle for another day) and she is finally starting to make returns after shopping at amazon prime for years.

I own one and agree with the comments here that this is for light indoor use. I use it to get items from shelves in my garage, and it is fine for that. Avoid lateral strain and only use it when it is level.

Bought this and found it by my apartment's mailboxes... as is. Just the ladder and the manufacturer label torn and off to the side. Home Depot had shipped the ladder as is? And it came incredibly scratched and scuffed as if it had been in use for years.

Returning it and getting a new one as who knows how unsafe this is now.
A picture or it didn't happen.

This is the one I got last year at the same price. All steel and very sturdy. But heavy to go up and down the stairs. The Costco one was a lot easier to handle. I may get it when Costco marks it down again.

Judging by the comments here, I'll bite when it's $10.

Ended up getting the Cosco from Costco for 28. Can always return it if something slick comes for BF.

Interesting, I have this one (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Goril...205804012) and have used it for many projects over the past 6 years. I use it all the time and for anything 8 foot or under I prefer it to my regular step ladder. Same weight rating and brand, but I do notice it appears a little different.

It will be a minute before it goes back to $9. We bought 3 that year. Those Deal Days are long gone.
