Firstly, the Chicco LATCH connector is second to none (perhaps rivaled only by the Clek rigid LATCH connector system). Their ease of use is akin to a car seat belt (unlike the typical metal hooks used for LATCH connectors). For this reason, my Chicco brand seats were the ones I would move between cars (while leaving my Britax models as essentially permanent installations).

Second, the Zip style is indeed on its own level for ease of removal and replacement of the cover for cleaning. I never really had any problem with the somewhat complicate cover removal and replacement process required for, say, Chicco's non-Zip model. However, having received this exact model as a replacement I found myself having to set aside less time for the cleanout process which encouraged me to clean them out more often (years later I still await the day that I can get out of the business of clearing out cereal and goldfish from every nook and cranny).

For a car seat you might be moving between vehicles, especially in forward facing configuration, I would suggest that even at their relatively premium pricing these Chicco models are still one of the best buys. This is only qualified in part because for rear facing I like the availability of an anti-rebound bar as in some Britax models.

Good luck!
Jon
