I was waiting for a deal on this one because the same-price "Ultra" model has a thick cap containing the extra attachments, and that cap is more cumbersome and breaks open sometimes with the nozzles flying all over the place.

If your Waterpik hose broke, then don't buy a new Waterpik unit! You can buy a 3rd party hose and handle that screw into this unit. I actually like the 3rd party hose handles better because it uses a button instead of a switch to stop the water flow. That button allows you to have even more variable control over the stream, not unlike an Xbox controller trigger.

Take a dvd case and put it on the sink. About how much space it'll take up.

Why use these over floss? (Cue the bidet vs TP comparison?)
These irrigators clean below the gumline, which is especially important for anyone with perio pockets.

Skip waterpik altogether and go with Phillips like this. It's way better IMO:
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/phil...Id=6483387

Waterpik has a single stream head while phillips has a quad stream head. It cleans way better, much faster, covering more area as you sweep your teeth and gumlines. I used waterpik for 8yrs and last two years with Phillips, I'll never go back to waterpik.
Well Phillips stuff is made to break after a year. Good luck.

The 3rd party replacement hose restricted the flow so much that l returned hose for refund. My experience.

Here is a factual Model Information comparison derived from Waterpiks website. That you may use to make an educated decision on which unit to purchase
Appears that the model on amazon being sold is
WP-662 (Aquarius 660 series) 660, 662, 663, and the one in Kohls (Ultra 100 series) Model #s WP 100 - 112, 113, 115, 117, 118 (which are all different colors of the base models WP 100 (Ultra))
TLDR;
The Aquarius Model comes with a massaging feature, an LED indicator, a timer and an extra classic flossing tip. the pressure, flow rate, capacity is all the same across the two units

The Same details between the Two
-----Water Flosser Features-----
Flow Rate/Minute13 Ounces
Pulses/Minute: 1400
Pressure Settings: 10
Rotating Tip: 360 Degree
Chrome Accents: No
Water On/Off Switch On Handle: On/Off Slider
Whitening: No
-----Reservoir Details-----
Capacity: 22
Capacity in Seconds: 90+
Covered: Yes
Medicament Reservoir Included: No
-----Power Details-----
Voltage: North America only 120VAC/60Hz
-----Limited Warranty-----

The Different details between the Two
The Aquarius Model
Massage Mode: Yes (Ultra Model does not have this)
LED Function Indicator: Yes (Ultra Model does not have this)
Timer/Pacer: Yes (Ultra Model does not have this)
Water Flosser Tips: 3 (JT-100E) (Ultra Model only comes with 2 of these tips )
Height (With Tip/Brush): 10.35 (Ultra model is 9.9)
Max Width (Base): 4.7 (Ultra model is 5.6)
Max Depth (Base): 3.8 (Ultra model is 5.3)
The Weight of the two different units appears to be similar which is approximately different by .02

can you send me a link for the replacement hose? Thank you.
This one worked great for me, and I like it better than the OEM hose and handle:

I've had two of these break already. The thermal fuses blow without fail after a little over a year of having them. Going to try the Phillips next
Maybe your water has heavy salts and contaminants in it? I've owned Waterpik models for over a decade, using them daily and the only way they've failed is that their hoses eventually crack and spew water from the crack, or the handle switch stops working properly, at least as far as I can remember.

I haven't owned a cordless water flosser from Waterpik, but I've used multiple models of other cheapo brands and they all have the same main problem: the stream is less continuous and the water feels more "sharp" and painful, even at a lower pressure. It's hard to explain.

After that, I've brought my corded Waterpik even when traveling. I'm afraid to try a cordless Waterpik because they are kind of expensive and I'm afraid that it might have the same problem as the others.

As for the off-brand cordless ones I owned, I gave one away and repurposed the other as a handheld cleaning tool for special cases.

The cordless waterpik is only $10 more than this one.

These usually break when they aren't cleaned with vinegar periodically as stated in the instruction booklet.
Maybe but I haven't cleaned mine for 3 years and it's still working fine

I got this or similar model on a deal some years ago, possibly 4 years ago. After everything, it was barely some $15. Except for the button settings in this model, it looks exactly the same with the exact same tips. The button I have for water quantity is a variable/gradient one as opposed to preset notches. It has been working well with the good size of water tank. I have used it almost daily and it's still working with no issues. I have not washed it with vinegar or anything, maybe just added peroxide for teeth clean8ng purposes just few times. After this, I think I will go with Phillips ones because it's a reputable company with topnotch products
