Traded in my old Echo Plus for $30 last week and got the Kindle PW Signature for $119.10 inc tax just now. Got lucky that my trade in went through just a couple of days ago, for 20% off this Kindle purchase.

Did trade in last night and got the credit and 20% coupon as soon as I hit the submit button.
Dude, that's awesome! Maybe it's because I traded in such an old unit, who knows?
I hope my wife will be happy with the PW Signature Edition. It'll be replacing a much older Paper White (2016, i think)

In my experience, I've noticed that battery issues in general (not speaking specifically about kindle) can degrade quickly once on that slope. I don't remember how many times a year Amazon offers these discounted prices + 20% trade in… but it isn't all the time. I swapped out a couple of mine.
I like my Oasis a lot, actually. The one thing I don't like is the battery on one side. It was intended to be swapped from hand to hand, but I feel it's just cumbersome. I actually tried swapping my Oasis for my wife's 6th gen (I think) Paperwhite, because she reads 100X more than me, and she declined.
I've been eyeing her Kindle for a while and the quality is no where close to my Oasis. I'm hoping the Signature Edition I bought her for Christmas will be a big improvement. Fingers crossed!
My oasis 2019 with LTE is only worth 75 trade in. I could easily sell it on eBay for $200 plus. I would say trading in non-premium Kindle or really old units for the newest model is worth it.

I did not receive my trade-in gift card and 20% discounts until AFTER they received and evaluated my trade-in. I have, in the past, received the discount as soon as I traded in and then the gift card after the evaluation. YMMV, I guess.
