@ispeed having owned the x25, why do you also need the x27? How tall are you (if you don't mind me asking)? I'm trying decide between the x25 and the x27. The x25 is also on sale on Amazon for about $40.

I'm almost 6'. I have an old 36" 3lb axe that I've split wood with for probably 20-25 years. Got the x25 to see if I liked a shorter version. I'm just used to the longer handle and have now just given the x25 to my daughter and wife. Both of them are about 5'2-3" so it fits them better. I think both are fine axes though and would be happy to use either in the woods. I picked this one up today to replace my old axe that will be much sharper and used for limbing trees now.

This is a good deal. I bought the X25 a couple of weeks ago. I'm 5'9" and it works well for me. I feel like the X27 would work even better.

Thanks! I ended up getting the x27. Ace Hardware has a 50% off full price item up to $15 for black friday. I got it for $50+tax = $65 - $15.
