I really like this "splitting axe" I have been using it since 2011 to split firewood (mainly, pine and cedar but some oak) for winter and prefer this to my other options. The head is about 5lbs, which is light, but the handle is a good length (I am 5'11") The head on this is pretty hard (RC40ish) so it says sharp but can chip. I can get this moving pretty fast with good control and deliver good energy to split 12"-22" logs. I also have a 6lb gransfors, an 8lb splitting maul and a 10lb maul. As I am pushing into my 5th decade, I appreciate the design. The fiberglass handle has held up well. I paid $48 in 2011 and thought it was a bargain.

I noticed they have a .36-Inch Axe for 170. That's pretty expensive for something that tiny.
