I have one died within a year due to overheat. It was replaced under warranty though. I think the USBc version at the same price is a better deal as it would work with most new phones and laptops that do not have USB A. They are less prone to overheat too by the design.
I think it is the form factor issue.
at this point, I really think they are making them as small as possible so you can lose them more easily

What are the symptoms, issues? I have one plugged into my Shield TV Pro and haven't noticed anything.

Wondering if this would be good to leave in the car radio for mp3s

That's exactly what I'm using it for. A regular flash drive is too big since the usb port is located inside the console between 2 front seats, very close to the top cover. Love it! Plenty of audiobooks + music can fit there - perfect for long trips

256 GB in that lil drive?! The plug is bigger than the storage! Where do they put all that data?!

Man, things are getting smaller all the time.

Is it big enough to be a boot drive for Windows 11 Pro?
Big enough? Sure. However, standard versions of Windows can't run from an external drive.

i agree. had several of these fail that were connected 24/7 to an esxi server.. very annoying. switched to PNY stick type which have been fine

It might be that it's so small that it doesn't dissipate heat as well as a regular stick.

The only way I buy soap! Love the men's care but since it hasn't been on sale lately and I'm running low I'll give this a whirl. Honestly never been disappointed with any dove soaps that I have used.

Thanks! Been waiting for these to go on sale again. I'm guessing they're not ideal for frequent use at high transfer rates but for my use (permanent install in a virtual pinball table to store some games) the form factor is important and I'm hopeful that there won't be enough use for it to heat up too much.

It just died within a year after keeping it plugged in my laptop. It is the heat that kills it.

It should be, and it is faster too.

Thanks for the info. Mine is plugged into the Shield Pro and could be a real mess if it failed.

The good thing is Shield usually not too hot. Nevertheless, keeping it plug in 24/7 may still be a bad idea.
