Motherboard is ok, but not really one of the highest end boards you would see paired with the fastest CPU. It's one of the least expensive boards to have a PCI Express 5.0 storage slot though.

I definitely would get an MSI board over Asus, because Armoury Crate is so bloated and buggy compared to the new MSI Center.

The deal you linked is in-store only, so it's not really a fair comparison or viable alternative to this online deal for anyone without a MicroCenter storefront nearby (ie: most people by a large margin). If you live near MicroCenter the deal you linked IS much better, full stop.

You don't need Armory Crate, just use G-helper instead. Works beautifully on my zephyrus m16 laptop.
Edit: Apparently that only works for laptops, but surely there has to be other third party software to control fans and lights on desktops right?
