Dude I know what this is and I played with slinky too in my young days. It's not rocket science as to know what a slinky is. You can post this a deal all you want but go read through the past threads on SD before you make a purchase. This is NOT an original slinky. It's cheap imitation of it with oily residue on it that will leave on your kids hands. It also does not walk down the stairs by itself because it's a bit shorter and smaller than the original slinky. So there you have it. Now go waste the two bucks and find out yourself but all I'm trying to do is save you the money from buying this crap.

Who doesn't love an Original Slinky? I have one.

Okay, so my dog doesn't love my Slinky; I think the sound confuses her. I'm a Slinky fan, though (of the original, not the plastic version).

They certainly don't make them like they used to with metal stiffness when I was a kid they were hard to mess up, but after the age of 8 it's never been the same since

Fair enough, thank you. I bought mine from a similar deal maybe a year or two ago. I don't think mine is oily, or at least I haven't noticed. And unfortunately these days I don't have stairs. So I use mine mainly as a fidget toy. The sound still sounds the same! (I have a plastic Slinky, too, and it plain sucks because it doesn't have the signature metal slinky sound.)

Also it's $2! I think the kiddos may have fun with it for a little while before returning to their devices (snark). Great stocking stuffer.

My kids like their Slinky's even the current generation, but to put it in perspective, my 6-year-old last year got one from Santa, destroyed it within a few days, and then used her Christmas money to buy 3 more for redundancy. I believe she's gone through all of them. So at this price, buy 10 per kid if you really think they'll enjoy it.

I can confirm, getting these to walk down stairs is nearly impossible. That said, the kid feels accomplished as they get it to walk down 2 then 3 then 4 and maybe someday more than that.
