Doesn't this controller get stick drift on down the line?
I've been using one for a year as a heavy duty call of duty player and haven't experienced it. I did with the standard Xbox controllers of course but the elite seems to truly be built better

Yes, it's still an issue. You can Google "xbox elite version 2 stick drift" and you'll see tons of complaints and class action lawsuit. I've had both the v1 and v2. I get the warranties tho. I like the heaviness of the controller, feels well built, but stick Drift and bumper issues are the main complaints.
I dont throw my controller ever but I do play mp shooter games. So maybe shooter and fighting games aggressive motion cause the issues. But it's a well known thing and again, tons of complaints online here, other sites/threads/forums. If ur gonna get it, get the extended warranty thru them or Microsoft.

Consider yourself lucky. They are built as badly as normal controllers, even with the premium price. Between stick drift and bumper issues (which I have right now) you better get a warranty. Or gamble and hope you're lucky like this guy.

1) Verizon sends off used ones. Read the previous thread.
2) was $107 in the previous deal.
3) these develop easy stick drift, so best if you're buying warranty on these suckers.
