You could minimize it by always using electronic shutter and only use mechanical shutter shoot sport and indoor. Don't often use burst shoot. I think there is a lawsuit.

You act like these are sold without a warranty. Yes, some have had issues with early shutter failure. Buy an extended warranty if you want insurance. Mine has been a great camera that has held up well to professional use.

I've had this camera since it came out. And I've had no issues with anything but the eye view finder rubber always breaking. I should just buy a better quality rubber. 😂

I shoot people who play sports, wildlife, cars, to space! 👀📷 Photoshoot is what I meant.

I have my own EDU code and it worked on the same item when it was around $1600 recently (I did not use it though) but now, it is not working and another person with a code generated today had the same problem. It would have been nice though if they combined.

If I go with the body only and want to buy another lens for mostly scenery, travel, and basic birdwatching photography, what will be my options (under $500)? Thank you.

PS: I know this is an impossible question to answer and I am no expert to come up with my own answers, so I appreciate any help.

this was my primary camera for all my gigs for over 5 years (photoshoots, weddings, small business commercials, music videos, etc.) and never had this so called 'shutter' issue. I sold it last year for around this price when i upgraded to the a7IV and actually regret not holding onto it because the a7IV tends to overheat. If you can find one for around 1k, i think it's a great investment.

Will this still hold up in 2024 quality wise? I came from the 6d mark ii and not sure if this was a good move.
