I'm starting to realize that most people can't discern too well the quality differences and really it comes down to good framing and lighting. Capturing good moments.
Most people are used to their phones. Anything better is good enough. But high quality, BORING pictures with unflattering lighting won't work with any camera.
I was considering a "cinema camera" next but had a realization that instead of investing in higher quality cameras I want more medium quality ones.
Why? Less worry about breaking them. Change lens by changing camera. Have multiple set up on tripods at the same time. Can't buy multiple $3-5k cameras. Not me. But I can afford 2-3 $1k cameras.
I DOUBT anyone says "not good enough" to the A7iii
Just my $0.02

PS: I know this is an impossible question to answer and I am no expert to come up with my own answers, so I appreciate any help.

It's really frustrating that Sony wont discontinue cameras like they should. So the lineup is totally cluttered and it's utterly confusing for anyone who is new and looking for a camera and comes in and looks at a $2000 a7iii (prior to this sale of course) and logically assumes it's on par with the other Sony/Panny/Canon cams in that price range. It makes it almost impossible for someone new to easily tell which cameras are better than which when they have like 30 options to choose one. At least with Canon/Nikon/Panasonic you can narrow it down by price range and sensor size, but with Sony you have like 4x as many options, many of which are outdated. On top of that, Sony has one of the most confusing and convoluted naming schemes of any brand. I've been b*tching for what feels like years that this being $2000 is crazy as part of their hybrid line.(A7x).
FFS Sony, do the normal thing and have like 2-3 cams at various price brackets for each sensor size for each of the three focuses - photo, video, or hybrid.
Sony A7 series never had a high shutter count durability. Just look at broken shutter listing.
I wouldn't buy used $100 A73 for high volume use.
A72, A7S2 had horrible shutter life
A73 is at best 50k-105k shutter life lasting 3-6 years for some. Nothing close to D850, Z8, D1, A93 & D5
Pro Grade A74, A1, A93, A6700
$2000 Pro Grade ZF, Z8, Z9. Ok is Z50, Z62
$750 Value Grade D500, D7500, D850/810
$1300 R8, R6. Pro Grade R62, R3

Canon R8 & R6 is only $1000-1300. Insane AF
Nikon Z6 $750-1000.
Sony ZV1
A73 is good photo and good video. But 8-bit video is very limiting for post production.
