Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

One thing i've learned in life is, once you make a large purchase, like a house or car, etc. Just stop looking and researching, you'll only be disappointed

Mazda service is horrible. Family member had a 2018 CX-9. Bought it brand new. Had regular maintenance and was well taken care of. Had under 70,000 miles. Developed a major engine issue because of a manufacturing defect and was a $7,500
repair. Mazda held the car for a week and then offered only $1,500 to help with the repair. They immediately traded it in and bought an Acura. Needless to say, I will not ever consider a Mazda after that.

I dont understand the point of buying these new. You can get a clean, recent low mileage used for thousands less, and these hold up, so the few extra miles aren't going to mean much.
Actually, the used ones are also not too low pricing as you mentioned. They are just 3-7k difference if you want a clean, under 50k mileage. Atleast that's what I observed.

I bought a 2018 CX-5 a month ago for a decent deal ($19.5k), if this was available I'd 100% buy new. Great deal, car feels a lot more stylish and luxurious than the comparable Toyotas and Hondas.

Cx5 is a smaller vehicle than x5 by a full category and is 2x+ the price. What are you talking about?
Well duh....
The last part of my comment was a sarcastic comparison of apples and oranges. Thought I made that pretty obvious with the whole "rather buy a Forester and CX5...." As in 2 cars for the price of 1.

Will probably find a lot better deals next year during tax time with all the full lots. Right now they're going after the suckers who will jump early.

Lmfao who on Earth would buy this thing for more or less the same price as a Tesla???
Lol, someone who can't charge at home. EVs are great if your use case works for them. Your religious fervor for marketing is funny though.

Agree with the comments, my Mazda feels very luxurious for its price range, but that mpg was absolutely terrible for commuting. Will be trading it in for a rav4 hybrid next.

I got this deal earlier this month, here's my two cents:

-Don't buy a CX-5 just because of this offer. I was already interested in the CX-5 so this offer was enough to get me to buy, but if I didn't already like the car I wouldn't have jumped on this deal just to save a few thousand dollars on something I plan to keep for 15+ years.

-You can combine the 0%/60 months with Mazda's offer to defer the first three months of payments. This doesn't save you any money, but since the interest is 0% there is no downside to doing it.

-If you have a high enough credit score to take a hit and still get the 0%, you can open a credit card with a high signup bonus like the Chase Business Ink cards--most dealers will let you put a few thousand on the credit card at no charge. The dealer I went to let me put 3k on it.

-Look at the cost of used cars in your area and find out from a lender what the going rates are on a used car loan. In my area a CX-5 with ~30k miles goes for $25k-26k. The interest rate from my credit union has used car loans at about 6%. For a $25k loan that would add $4k in interest, bringing it to $29k. A new CX-5 in the same trim cost just under $32k. To me it was worth it to pay an extra $3k to get a new car that I know wasn't driven by an idiot, but other people might want to save the $3k or more if used cars are priced better in their area.

-I just want to stress, don't buy a car just because it's a good deal. Reliable cars become great deals when you drive them for a very long time, so get something that meets your budget and that you will enjoy driving for 10+ years.
awesome summary and totally agree! I have been eyeing the cx5 for a while literally waiting for the interest rate to come down so it was a no brainer for me

i've already test driven and been in cx5 rentals before and loved it

also my current mazda 3 is still going strong 12 years 140k miles so was def excited for this upgrade

This is Mazda's last model year of CX-5. At this point, they are trying to dump whatever inventory is left. The line is replaced by CX-50.

Nah, you came across like a brand snob. My bad if I misunderstood.
