Mazda is having a hard time moving inventory. I bought a new CX-5 Signature at the peak of the pandemic shortages with 0.9% financing and $1000 below MSRP.

I absolutely love the car. As absurd and silly as this sounds, it's far more Cayenne than RAV-4. My only complaint is that gas mileage is mediocre to poor.

I mean, I've just accepted I'm always going to have a car payment because I greatly enjoy/appreciate driving a nice vehicle. It's a little odd to me that people will call me out while being fine with people who pay off 5-year notes and either trade in shortly after or start saving toward their next down payment. All those scenarios have effectively non-ending payments, but my max vehicle age is 2-3 years as opposed to their 5+ with a negligible cost difference: I've traded twice from 2018 to today, and my payment has gone up a total of $14/mo with no money out of pocket. Just takes a little effort to track incentives and equity.

Of course, if someone doesn't prioritize having newer features/benefits as much as me, there are obviously lower-cost ways to own a vehicle; I covered that in a previous post. But it's worth it to me.
I hear you and see where your coming from.

I literally quoted the FTC saying it was illegal. From two different sources.

Why do you only ever post untrue things?

Dude it's a GM official statement on warranty
Yes, and it says that only damage from aftermarket parts will not be covered.

Further it provides a process by which they have to run diagnostics and capture logs, then send them upstream to more technical people, to confirm the damage is FROM the mod before they can deny the coverage.

Versus your factually untrue claim simply HAVING mods will "void your warranty"

Again you have debunked your own lie and don't even understand you did it.

give me a Mazda cx5 with PHEV tyvm Mazda waiting for a rav4 prime competitor.
while being reasonably priced.

also we know the prices of batteries.
1000 whr is worth 500 right now to manufacture and sell as you see powerstations
given you need 18.1k for rav4 prime battery capacity that is about 9.05 cost based on not manufacturing.
If you use LIFEPO4 batteries that is. if you using lithium ion then it should be 25-30% of the cost further cutting costs down.
meaning it should be 5000-6000 max for battery costs.

IF Tesla's battery packs are estimated to cost between $135 and $142 per kWh in NOV 2023
that is even cheaper it should only cost 142 x 18.1 = 2570.2 per kwhr for regular lithium ion batteries.
SO if tesla wants to keep using old EV batteries that cost 50% less then its 2570.2 for the battery pack that Toyota uses.
10000-12000 if you go with 80-100kwhr range.
really not necessary.

meaning this batteries are no longer an excuse for high price of EV.
lower the engine to 1.0 to 2.0 litter and add the electric motor to sych it together
there is no real excuse. hybrids are the ones most want as well.

at the very least add the Regen braking already it costs standard 3k.
payback period is 20% per mile driven.

so every 100 miles 20 are given back on avg. based on 100/mpg lets say 33.3 and gas prices are about 4 dollars it would cost 12 dollars per and payback is 2.4.
cost of Regen brake is about 3000 / 2.4 = 1250 x 100 = 125000 yep.

but it also saves on changing brakes instead of every 30k miles you spend money on changing brakes you do it every 70-100k miles.
Personally speaking I spent 200-300 dollars doing it myself with rotars because they wanted to charge me 1000-1500 dollars for brake and rotar job. since they said rotar needed as well I did it myself.

IF toyota honda mazda etc dont wanna build their own batteries and source them instead then combine them with their vehicles. Assume they can source lifepo4 batteries anything else is TRASH especially with the amount of times people WILL use them as they are intended to.

1.0L- 2.0L engines would then be used instead of 4 L engines for heavier SUV as the electrical side used.
100 m range on only electrical power is ideal of course.

We are actually in the market for a new car. Need a bigger one to cart the little ones around. Wife's 7 year old prius is just barely big enough for trips. Looking at the cx90 phev...

Depends on her mobility. If she's still spry, it will be fine.

You got a very poor deal
Seems to be pretty consistent with others who have posted data points from their purchases in this thread for that specific model. I'm in a top-20 cost of living US city, so my base MSRP seems to be significantly higher than others'. If you've purchased a 2024 CX-5 Premium Plus and have those details, feel free to share.

FWIW, I didn't factor in the $500 customer loyalty promo, so I guess one could argue my "final" base price was $37K.
