Can you please link to some evidence of this? I own a 2021 M1Pro 14" MBP and I haven't had any heating issues, and my understanding is that M2Pro and M3Pro are *more* efficient at dissipating heat, not less.

Certainly a 16" MBP is going to be cooler than a 14", simply by virtue of the increased chassis area to circulate and expel air. Commensurately, a 14" will throttle before a 16" does--but I've never read anything that suggests that translates into legitimate "problems" with heat. Every laptop eventually throttles. It's part of the spec.

THIS is what I've been waiting for for the last 6 months in order to upgrade my 2020 M1 that foolishly was purchased with 8gb memory. This is the sweet spot as far as I'm concerned, great deal, thanks OP!

I've had this model for a few weeks now and it hasn't even gotten warm yet, it's crazy. Most of my time has been in logic, video streaming, steam game streaming from my pc, and general tasks. I'm not editing 4k video or anything but I feel this could handle it without overheating. This is my first MBP since the 13" I owned in 2011. Holy cow what a massive leap in technology since then.

great deal. I just paid 1849 at apple, but, got 3% cash back $67.98) , took the 2K and put it in a HYSA @ 4.3% ($41.35 over the life of the 12 months as it draws down) so effectively $110 savings there. This would have been more slick probably but oh well.

you see a lot of 14" sales because they're bad - a lot of heating issues. Do your research before you buy the 14" model.
The 8gb ram model has the heating issues because it's a single fan cooler setup. This model has dual fans and a larger heat sink than the M2.

$1799.99 and 512GB SSD should not be in the same sentence. WTF?!

The 14-inch M3 Pro with 36GB of RAM and 512GB SSD is $1999 at Adorama after a $400 discount ($200 instant, $200 coupon). I refrained from posting the deal because it requires a coupon code from Apple Insider, and I don't want the mods breathing down my neck saying that I broke rules LMAO

Congrats! That's a great deal. I really tried, but the two times I did the "excellent" units were anything but. If I wanted to drive hundreds of miles, maybe I could get lucky--but at some point there is diminishing returns for time vs. savings. My last two iMacs I bought at BB open box were perfect and also hundreds off. For those going this route, start searching after January 14--there's sure to be plenty of open box stock from the end of the holiday return period.
Thanks, that's a good tip right there. I did get lucky indeed, but did get an "excellent" sound bar with dents, so Lady Luck plays a big role here lol

I guess because it's far less popular. I also want the silver but deals are only on black.

I did get the m3 pro open box from Best Buy for $1600 so might want to check it out. 18GB, the screen and speakers is what took me from the m2 model to this one. 4 cycles on the battery but I can live with that as I still have 11 months of warranty plus another one for buying it with a platinum amex but many cards now offer an extra year of warranty on top of the standard 1 year warranty. The computer Looks new by the way. I did get an M1 in January 2021 for $600 that was supposed to be dented and was brand new too, just opened. Every experience will be different though
Just a warning, AMEX extended warranty doesn't apply for open box (anything other than new).

Only space black has the $200 instant savings, any chance I can get it for silver? Maybe by calling Adorama?
