Trust me, you won't notice the grainy screen unless you go looking for it. It's a non issue.
Ah thanks. My OCD would make me hate it then, even though I'm buying as a gift. Lol

What's the battery life like—can it extend to 8 hours @ 60hz (basic web surfing?)
I believe it's around 6 hours on light usage and less than 3 on heavy usage due to OLED and Touch.

I have the 14" non-touch version. Battery life is definitely not one of its strong points, but the machine is amazing, with the best part being the screen. I wouldn't count on 8 hours. The version with an AMD CPU would probably have better battery life.

just a tad bit bigger (14 vs. 14.5"). Same grainy touch screen.
yep the grain is a an eye sore. saw one at best buy.. it's basically equivalent to a cluster of dead pixels in the same area in terms of being distracting. ppl who say it's a non-issue must have very poor eye sight. but to each their own.. if you're not able to notice it, then that is a huge plus if you want this laptop. but if you're an observant person, i'd stay very clear of this grainy display

I'ma quick troll this by saying:

I bought it. Took it back. She way too hot on the bottom and the battery is 2-4 hrs on a 10 tab chrome and outlook/teams.

Specs are good, but definitely get what u pay for.

Do not purchase non-gaming laptops for gaming. Go get one with a dedicated Nvidia GPU. This is more for non-gaming use, offering super good specs for web browsing, video editing, and other tasks which are not gaming.

Chrome has made some changes lately to help free up memory and lighten the load. Not sure if that helps things or not yet.

But wouldn't a gaming laptop do better for video editing also since it has a dedicated gpu?

Have this laptop, it's a nice little laptop with very few flaws if you need one at this budget now.

I still think that the battery is a little
Short and can't wait for the next version with the new intel CPU

This is a 1/2 inch bigger screen but you'll get worse battery life. I wouldn't do it.

Bought this for 650 back in the summer and returned it. The screen had this weird screendoor effect that really bothered me. This thing runs loud and hot and tbh I don't like the 14.5 size there's quite a bit of heft to the weight as well due to it. I heard screens have that weird effect sometimes because they're touchscreen. Really wish they didn't bother with touchscreen.
