I own a couple of these ratcheting hand drivers. The Klein version feels like it has the best quality for fit and bit quality. Megapro has quality bits but less ergonomic. Craftsman is okay but ratcheting action not as good as Megapro or Klein. Hypertough from Walmart is garbage.

i got this a while back... in this case what 'speeddrive' means is that you can twist the screwdriver both ways to drive one way. thus, you are not wasting a turn. there is a control to set the direction.

This is a pretty great screwdriver but a couple of warnings - 1) the bits are not magnetized and the magnetizers do not work on them. 2) the end cap comes off too easily and the bits fall out. It's plastic threaded and won't stay on. 3) the main bits most people use are + and -. Many screwdrivers include a bit that has both on one reversable bit so you don't have to open it to switch the most common cases. This does not. They're all +/+ or -/-, etc. Overall great screwdriver for the price but know it's limits.

For PC building, you'll probably want something slimmer, like a "precision [amazon.com]" screwdriver set. I don't love using magnetic screwdrivers around electronics for obvious reasons.
And why is that???

I like the ratcheting screw driver in the Black Panther tool set which cost like this. Nice feel, size, and smooth action.

I'm not saying this to be rude, but that is a super cheap piece of crap. I bought the Craftsman one and it is all metal even when you change the directions unlike the little switch on that thing. I have had those MANY times and they last less than 6 months. This thing's build quality is really good!

People getting duped by this. Product typically sells
for $15.

You can get two of the34-piece Pittsburgh [harborfreight.com] from Harbor Freight for about the same price.

The Klein one has its version of speed drive where it continues to turn when you ratchet it both directions? Are the bits magnetized on that one?

If you bought one and it broke six months later, you could take it right back to HF and get a new one. The idea that you said you bought these bunches of times obviously isn't true, since you wouldn't have to keep buying it due to the lifetime warranty, and it wouldn't make sense for you to keep buying it if you truly thought it was garbage.

OK deal, but I also prefer the Klein version. I have the mega pro and the Klein is far higher quality. The shaft of the mega pro is brittle and has already rounded a bit.

Well said. These are exactly my complaints with it. But I still quite like it.

why include a PH2 + PH2 bit? completely unnecessary considering there are already PH2 in the set.

If I need tools to build a computer, will this set have everything I need?
I absolutely do not recommend a motorized screwdriver without a clutch - nothing needs to be tightened past finger tight, nothing needs to be forced into place using the screw threads, and there's nothing that requires even as many turns as a 1/2" sheet metal screw does. For me, the novelty of owning a ratcheting screwdriver with big bulky handle and thick shaft for a couple of screws here and there has also worn off.

For screws that are easy to reach, anything will work. For screws that are harder to reach, I've found it very handy to have 2" and 6" long hex bits with a compact handle, specifically the Picquic Dash-7 and the 6" Harbor Freight bits:

https://picquic.ca/dash-7/
https://www.harborfreight.com/6-i...68474.html

or, heaven forbid, individual screwdrivers, some stubby. There are so fewer screws in a typical PC nowadays - #2, sometimes #1, Phillips covers most of them that didn't come in a prebuilt, although M.2 screws are tiny and I can't remember what size mine are. I will occasionally use a flat head, such as the 6" bit by itself, to push down on a PCI-E release lever (although this can end in disaster! maybe use a chopstick.) Nobody has to use a flathead for heatsink clips anymore. Nutsetters can be nice to use where they will work (especially for standoffs) and avoid typical Phillips damage, but that's no reason to go out and buy them. You will want "precision" screwdrivers for the M.2 screws, 2.5" SSDs, GPU heatsinks, and life in general.

This thing is awesome. Used it to build several trailers and I'm 100x impressed with everything about it. I'd gladly pay twice the cost of this.
