I am not sure about 7pro but mine 6a was unlocked from the day I received.
I look like a new account to Mint each time by using Gmail's "plus sign" feature whereby you insert some random text preceded by a plus sign right before the @ in your email address and that extra stuff looks like a different address to Mint, but Gmail ignores it. For example:
[email protected]
Looks unique to Mint, but still gets processed to the [email protected] address by Google. I often use the company and date for the random text to ensure it's unique, so I'd have:
[email protected]
Texting via group texts sometimes doesn't go through (or come through) and sending pictures via text just don't work. After troubleshooting for a year with support and reddit forums, there still isn't a fix. It got better after switching the APN and found one that works OK, but it's never consistent.
Just a warning to anyone considering the switch.

Hello Ryan reynolds 😂
At&t charging $80 a month for 9 GB of data in CONNECTICUT.
Never did a port before kinda vague
It'd open up the deal to existing Mint users definitely. Whereas I almost passed it up before looking more closely

Not complicated, no need for your number yet right?
Yes, I have done this. You canalso activate the plan on another phone if wanted, you MUST port a number to get the 12months. Otherwise it will be 6.
If you look carefully at the page, here's where the porting in bit shows up: "GET 50% OFF ANY 12-MONTH PLAN
When you buy a new phone from Mint
Must bring your phone number to Mint"
The phone is 99 bucks, and you're buying the plan to bundle with it that happens to have that deal attached to it (50 percent off on 12 month plan). They're forcing you to get a plan is all.
This is exactly why people have been able to resell/use phone and plan separately. It's nothing like the Metro deals, if you're familiar with those. They tie the SIM to the IMEI and whatnot.
