You mind explaining how? I've scoured their website but can't find anything with that price without a trade in.
Apple only currently makes 3 watches: the Ultra 2, the Series 9, and the SE. Basically Apple cannot import any of its watches from the Series 6 onwards.
What that means is not only will Apple not sell you the Series 9/Ultra 2, but that US merchants aside from Apple (Best Buy, etc) won't get new stock of such. Older models are just existing stock they're selling off and that as well won't get replaced.
Lastly, Apple can't repair any of the watches affected by the ban unless they are under warranty like AppleCare+.
So if you buy a new Apple Watch make sure you get AppleCare+. Otherwise if it breaks you're out of luck for any kind of problems if the watch konks out.

This is true a guy posted on Reddit he has a 6 went into the Apple store today and wouldn't replace the battery out of warranty
I think Apple and Samsung are two great innovators with different strategies. Samsung gets sales by being the first, Apple develops the technology but doesn't release it immediately and, instead, makes sure it's near perfect first.

i'd personally go for ultra 2 for the new chip. while i'm still happy with the gen 6 performance, it's only a matter time before it gets too slow or apple stops supporting software for it because the chip is too old.
i don't upgrade my watch as often as my phone simply because it's not as important. so longevity is key for me.
ultra 1 uses the same chip from gen 6 i believe.
Ultra 1 uses S8 SiP with 64-bit dual-core processor
They have a buy one, get one 300 off. My guess is this is what was done.

I second this. They are both great innovators with different marketing strategies. Now Chinese phones are on the horizon catching up. It's good for us as consumers when more competition means more choices with better prices
