Whirlpool French door refrigerator. Don't see it at this price often (sale price usually is $1600 and msrp is $2100). Also includes free delivery, haul-away, and parts.

With in 2 years, ice maker slowed down. Freezer froze up, freezer door track needed replacing, water dispenser actuator died. Cause 2 year Costco warranty, they keep fixing it, but it is a regret buy
I bought this 2 years ago & have had the complete opposite experience. No issues whatsoever with this fridge. We left it on the default setting of 4 for the freezer & fridge. No problems with freezing up or anything else. You probably just got a bad one. We've been extremely happy with our purchase.
I've got two buddies with this fridge and same issues. Doesn't regulate temp well and they regretted the water dispenser location. Have to open the fridge to get water rather than a quick tap on the front. I don't think that's anything major other than it could possibly not be as energy efficient.

Literally just got this fridge from a friend a few days ago, they sold their house and didn't want it and the buyer didn't want it either and is was in their basement and I put it in my garage. I really like it as a fridge, it is nice and wide open up top but I am not a fan of where the freezer is, if that was my main fridge I would hate it. The little arm on the ice maker is broken and in the down position and I have to figure out how to disconnect it since that isn't hooked up anyway. I have thermometers in both sections and they both seem to be working fine and cooling and freezing correctly. Any part should be easy to replace because the movers took off all the doors to move it and then put them back on when they brought it here.

All modern appliance manufacturers are garbage. Count your lucky stars if they make it to 5 years. Every single part comes from the cheapest source available with little to zero QC.

I bought mine back in 2016. It's been working flawlessly.
FYI, I never used the ice maker.

This fridge has been in my apartment for over 30 months at least, which is the same length of time I've been living here. It has been incredibly reliable without any issues whatsoever. The only problem I encountered was when the plastic casing of the pull out bread tray broke, but that was entirely my fault. Storing a hammer on top of the fridge turned out to be a bad idea. I'm curious to see how much of my deposit they're going to withhold for that one when I move out in a couple of weeks.

This is basically my Whirlpool fridge that I bought like 6~ years ago? It literally just a few weeks ago started not cooling very well Frown. Pretty unhappy about that given the price I paid (closer to 2k back then). Hoping I can get it fixed :/

Reading the comments and having my personal experience tells me that Whirlpool isn't what it used to be.

I have a different model with the dispenser on the outside since 2020 that otherwise looks very similar to this. It's no longer making ice and about a couple weeks ago all of the led lights towards the back of the fridge went out.

I also have a 20+ year old out in the garage that simply won't die.

I wish people would suggest something on top of their complaints. Every fridge that comes out, it's just a long list of reasons not to buy it. Samsung, LG, and whirlpool. Nothing but complaints.

I personally found no faults with the fridge. Does everything you'd want from a fridge without coming across the slightest of issues in the 31 months of using it.

I've been needing a new fridge for over a year now but every time any deal gets posted there are always some scary comments here and in the reviews about the brand.

Is there any reliable ratings site which includes evaluating brand warranty support? I'm completely lost as to which brand makes non trash fridges anymore. Everyone seems tk have issues with compressors, ice makers, noise, quality of materials used, reliability, warranty support, ability to find parts, etc. Etc.

You're right. I usually just copy the model # & do a search on Google. Do your own research and you'll be able to determine what will work best. That's how I ended up purchasing this fridge, along with the rest of the Whirlpool suite. I haven't had any issues.

People will always complain about appliances or electronics, so it's always best to figure it out on your own. Another reason why I chose Whirlpool is because our old side by side is still working & it's about 8 years old.

Being a major appliance it's not like we can just toss it and get another. Most of the time it either gets repaired or we just live with the issues.
