    Some states charge tax on digital downloads; others do not. (Lots of questions and arguments in the thread about this.)

    You can use Free Fillable Forms (https://www.irs.gov/e-file-provid...able-forms) - which is provided for free by the IRS with no income limits and free e-filing. I usually use TurboTax (free as long as you don't file) to check my numbers and to make sure i filled out everything correctly

    Deluxe Desktop does stock transaction downloads you do not need premier desktop. Deluxe ONLINE version doesnt handle stocks and you need Premier ONLINE for stock transactions. Intuit does this on purpose to confuse people.

    An additional thing to consider. Around Christmas time I make sure to get as many of my purchases with no-rush shipping as possible. We don't stream Amazon videos that often and are not really app buying people. Ordinarily no rush credits would expire on us but when this deal rolls around each year, the non-gift card version is also discounted but you can apply your no-rush credits to it.

    In a case like mine, the better deal is to forego the $10 gift card and instead use your Amazon no-rush credit bonus. Mine this year was $27 which means I was able to order Home and Business for $51 after tax.

The software won't install unless you sign in to your Intuit Account online. Importantly, your product license code can only be associated with one Intuit Account.

    Your license code will then be stored in your Intuit Account, should you need to install the software again.

    FYI if you have no rush credits, choose regular download version (without the gift card) and you can use them, it will come off as promotional balance. I had a lot so it made sense to me to do that vs a $10 gift card, paid 3.24 total for Deluxe Federal (don't need state in FL)

    Unless they've changed something this year, Deluxe will handle rental income. The premier gives you more "guidance" on deductions, but Deluxe has the required forms.

    Too many people pay the same corrupt scums that are keeping our tax laws convoluted via a strong lobby so we have to keep using their services. In some other countries, their governments send them a tax bill for a sign off, and it's done.
