When you're a battery daddy, you don't want loose batteries.

So you've got 100 AA, 100 AAA, 10 9V, etc. Now what? Looks like you still have a container (which can be sorted/organized) with "loose" batteries. I never understood the point of this thing.

My thoughts exactly. Who has Cs or Ds? And this is a TON of batteries to have on hand. Maybe if it was 1/2 or 1/4 the capacity. I have an extra set of rechargeable AA and AAA waiting to be used. And some button batteries. Everything else is in use. Why in the world would you need 70+ spare AA or AAA batteries?!

I got toys .. I constantly run out of AAA and AA batteries ..plus kids with game controllers and other toys.

A few years ago I got the QVC version of this as a gift. Same body but the color is gray.

My first instinct was to hate it. But it turned out to be awesome. For a long time, I've done the Office Depot battery rewards. Most of the batteries are still in perfect condition and I live in a warm weather climate.

The battery tester is cheap but it works perfectly.

Don't most batteries have built-in testers?

I suspect there aren't that many with real daddy issues. Vote here if you actually have issues with your daddy or just don't like your daddy. Does your daddy really make your life worse? For those who never had a daddy around, your batteries getting all mixed up and shorting out?

Again you don't need 70 spare batteries. Just one or two sets of rechargeable batteries not being used. Having that many batteries is just plain silly. Or use normal batteries and always have two sets on hand. Not 16 sets! They're not all going to die at once.
I have 6 kids and the grandparents gave each kid a remote control car - used every battery I had in the house. Smilie

I haven't bought batteries with built in testers for 15 years. The ones sold at Office Depot don't have them.

I've had one of these going on a year now and just used the battery tester like 2 days ago. I do enjoy having it all organized nicely and something about the clear plastic combined with the red backdrop is aesthetically pleasing.

Bought the same exact unit from Costco over a year ago. Worth every dollar, although I paid a little more at the time. It organized my house. No scattering. Even holds CR 2032 batteries with a little ingenuity.
This. Hopefully the next version will have better CR button cell storage and a place to store a charger rather than tester.

That's what the battery daddy marketing folks told you but isn't a real risk.

exactly my thought!

In the past, I've thought about getting some type of battery organizer.. but now, with my cheap mindset, I just use the plastic container that comes with the 40+ battery sets from Costco = organized enough for me. At my house, more than 9 times out of 10, family and visitors alike, they need either AA or AAA batteries. I have some 9Vs and a couple of Cs or Ds. The 9Vs are mainly for the smoke detectors around the house.

although, with the battery daddy, the battery tester is a nice touch. But for me, I just break out my digital multimeter.

I just need a good battery tester that does the coin type. A lead on my trusty old Radio Shack tester broke recently and I don't think soldering will fix it. But I hate having to pay $40+ for a new one.

Any recommendations?
