I haven't found one this small that sounds "better". What do you suggest that isn't any bigger? Thx.
I am a cyclist and have had this clipped to my backpack for years now. Literally never leave the house without it.
If you do a lot of outdoor activities I would highly recommend this one. The outdoor mode gets really loud. You will always hear me coming lol
Right on point. No on has suggested an as-small, or smaller alternative. They're all like twice as big.
I highly recommend exploring your options via reviews to get a much better bang for your buck
You might not know about it, but performers and affluent people buy these products.
For sure there are better value speakers, but it is not always about the sound or cost.
Earlier guy suggested boomcore. I think this is what he's referring to. It's smaller.

I would get another if I needed one but I've never needed to replace the one I have. I bought mine in 2018.
The black color of the speakers I bought is not currently available at those prices but you can get a different color variant two-pack for ~$40 on Amazon right now which is just a ridiculously good deal in comparison to this UE model (type C charging, options for single use or stereo paired)

I also recommend checking into the latest offerings by Monoprice for sales and budget friendly models that punch above their weight class.
There can definitely be a big difference between buying name brand and a budget speaker but I have found myself reaching for my Boomcore speakers more than I ever do with my JBL Go 3. Another model to consider (depending on budget and performance desired) would be the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 for ~$50.
*UPDATE* as of 11am on 1/10 the Boomcore two pack (teal/orange color) is only $32.50 when both coupons on the page are used. Far better deal for great sounding, versatile speakers. I wish I could share a link to the page but I was warned that my comment would be removed if any mods happened to see it.
$35 for teal/orange pair, and $35 for navy pair on my account. Coupon seems to vary 10-25% on Amazon 👍

Hmm? This UE has TWO 1.6-inch drivers and two 1.8-by-2.6-inch passive radiators.
The boom core has a 1.69 driver.
That boom core reminds me of those little 1 speaker pocket radios ppl used to carry back in the 60's 70's.

The '360 sound' and having it float in the pool are cool features. The audio quality is good. I only have some JBL portable speakers to compare it to, both the Flip and Clip. I prefer it to them.
I have 1 billion micro USB cords I've acquired over the years. This seems to be a sticking point for some. I guess it could be a pain if you're travelling with it and you have to bring an extra cord or something? IDK, doesn't seem like a big deal.

I know the brand and have owned several of their products (and heard this one). I can't claim audiophile status but I have a decently trained ear from years of developing my home theater and enjoying both premium and high-value/low-cost equipment.
Any model of UE I have owned have been very underwhelming. This model was no exception. Not every budget option is good just like not every name brand product is good. That isn't to say that UE doesn't have some good products. I'm just not wed to any brand and give any model a try on any given day.
I have experienced my fair share of speakers and sound equipment and like to think I have a good grasp on what a decent deal is. I don't know everything and I'm always willing to learn but I also don't shy away from what I do know.
None of that has to mean anything to you or anyone else if you choose not to believe me since I'm a random person on the Internet but that's also why I encouraged people in my first comment to do their research. At the end of the day, it doesn't help or hurt me if people want to buy this UE model. I've made a statement based on my experiences with dozens upon dozens of speakers over years of enjoying and testing sound equipment in an attempt to help people make a choice they might be happier with. Hopefully it helps someone. That's the only goal I had here
*UPDATE* LOL that someone gave a thumbs down to this comment. How much of a fanboy does someone have to be to take issue with what I said here? I made suggestions other than the posted deal so I'm automatically wrong? If you are happy with your speaker, that's cool. People are getting very defensive about this topic though

As far as UE branded speakers goes, I have two of the UE boomboxes from like 10 yrs ago. They're the wide and low, silver models with the long handle across the top, and blue colored end caps. Picked them on clearance for $99 each at BB. They're one of my best purchases ever! Still use one in kitchen and one in bathroom to this day. I just recently replaced the rechargeable battery in both. It's one of those common ones found in flashlights. I bought a Sonos Move like 6 months ago and in a head to head comparison, the Sonos sounded just slightly better than the old boombox. BUT, I tweaked the treble on my phone's music app and now the two were really indistinguishable. I returned the Move. Lol.

That's the exact thought I had about the name when it first popped up as a suggested product on Amazon too. I actually have had numerous Soundcore speakers and still love my Motion+ so the name seems like a cheesy rip -off, I'll agree with that.
I actually do check fakespot too so I'm pretty surprised it got an "F" given what a good value I find it to be but I guess even good products can be sold by people using slimy business practices.
It probably doesn't mean anything but I think they are a very enjoyable set of speakers.

I really enjoy my JBL Go 3! I wanted that exact form factor and got mine for $20 during Black Friday deals just over a year ago. Definitely a solid choice. The only issue in comparison with this UE model is the volume output. For a good, highly portable speaker though, the JBL Go 3 is a great little option. I will say that I have ended up using my Boomcore speaker(s) more since getting them but they are just slightly longer than a Go 3 and put out higher volumes while maintaining good, clear sound. I still can't bring myself to get rid of that JBL Go 3 though lol. Very solid choice
