A dreadnought steel string like the pic. It's a real Spruce top; but not only that, it is a SOLID Spruce top as advertised and pictured. Not laminate. And this is a big deal with acoustic guitars. And it's loud in the room, without an amp. And this combo has an superior frequency response. While you can easily just play softly; which is excellent technique then it also has a booming bass, great mid range and excellent treble BALANCE too. Finally a situation where the tone wood actually matters. Played AB compared to another and it's a bit more than subtle. Anyone can tell. And THAT is the best acoustic sound. If you don't believe me then get one try it and send it back if you don't like it. I have found Monoprice to be very reputable and trustworthy. And I don't care if you think I'm a shill, I'm not.
I posted a deal on their Classic Electric guitar many loved; but I actually like the cheaper eBay guitars better. And have downed the beak on their Classic Strat like guitar and would sand it off. But with this acoustic it's Monoprice for me! Plus, I had some terrible issues with FedEx and MP totally made up for it, and then some. To my advantage. I HIGHLY recommend one of their steel string (Dreadnought size) acoustics. Mine is PERFECT and a work of art in person. It's almost to fancy; but just right. Not overly embellished; but its piping is nice. Excellent build in other words. REALLY excellent. And I just wanted the best sound. You get BOTH!
Don't be confused. First decide between the nylon string AKA classical style and what I recommend; the steel string dreadnought.
Then decide if you want the Acoustic Electric version or just Acoustic.
For the Acoustic $75 is a steal for this SOLID Spruce top guitar. It might go $69 again, like $6 cheaper. It might not. If this very same guitar had a famous name on it then it would be on the HIGH side of hundreds, or much more. If you want names go get them. If you want one of the very top most guitars and for next to nothing then get this while you can. I'm not kidding. Of course. You can get diamond studded and more decor if you want to look elsewhere and pay to much. But if you want a killer acoustic then you just found it. Yes! It beats similarly price popular recommend basic guitars. By a lot.
If you want Acoustic Electric steel string here then hold out and watch like crazy for one of the lowest prices that it has been. I think around $99 maybe $89, go check.
As usual; use any other slick tricks to lower the FINAL price. Like Visa deals, and credits you may have, customer perks, etc..
Get this guitar and you will LOVE it! ...If you want a cool acoustic. I usually play Electric guitar; but this acoustic is so nice to have. All I had to do was tune it and play the strings in (Stretch to task) until they held tune. Same on all new strings. I'll get new strings; but they are good. I don't know what it is; but it's very freeing and inspirational. Very hard to put down. And the various drum like thumps you can do with it are amazing too. And this is why I did not want a cutaway, the volume. It's very fine and the best, fuller sound. So it's the most dynamics and that's from quite to loud, as an acoustic Dreadnought can get. This darn thing would hold it's own in a bar, not even mic-ed up. And the tone really comes out if you do mic it. For live or recording. And the Acoustic Electric version sounds great jacked-in too. With built in light up tuner that spoils me. I used the clamp on 2nd tuner ALSO included with it for my other guitar.
If you are sure you want the regular steel Dred here and want it now then then now is the time.
And that case is not thin, it is thick and worth at least $20 alone. And that clamp on tuner is great, small so less obvious and yet very easy to read. Easy needle like center tuning. With many modes. Nice kit. What a steal! A real solid Spruce top steel string shiner. Are you kidding me? You know you will regret not getting this. But if you can wait then see if $69 comes back, or $89 for the AE, then that's smart too.
P.S. Sorry but that deal history is wrong. It was only $60 (non AE) for few seconds one night, so I think it was a discount code change over glitch. Not for all those months. Unless it's convoluted with the classical nylon string model perhaps for less. NOT the steel string. And putting steel strings on a nylon classical can break stuff; dear Willie Nelson. Don't get Triggered now.
Opinion: Unless you are likely to stay a really small frame person then a Dreadnought is where it's at. Even then you can still play a Dreadnought size; if you really want it. Just try the size out first, at a store or with a friend. A cutaway is just a preference and some sound just as good, almost.
