& OP! One of my parents enjoys their food and I'm contemplating this as a birthday gift for them.

And from the looks of it, most locations are participating except for those noted below:

This is almost a B1G1 deal but you have to pay $200 upfront.

You have to order regular menu items. No promotions. I expect

1 appetizer - $15
2 entrees - $40
2 soft drinks - $5

Total around $60. With the $30 pass discount, the meal will cost $30+tax+ tips
Tax and tip on the $60 but yes

For tipping, this is my brilliant strategy:

I stroll into this fine establishment, ready to enjoy a delightful meal. Now, I'm a generous soul, so I start by placing a crisp $5 bill on the table for our waiter. But here's the twist – every time our dear waiter fumbles or makes a misstep, I deduct a dollar from the initial tip. It's a bit like a performance review, you see. They get rewarded for excellent service, but, ah, they feel the consequences for any slip-ups.
Ummm....they are humans....they make mistakes like you and me. This isn't the fking zoo.

In NJ, you'd be eating a lot of unknown extras in your food if you do that. Be careful.

I think the catch is, they are going to sell a few hundred or 1000 of them, don't think everyone who wants one will get it. This seeems like a PR stunt, free advertisement.
I'm sure they can spring for 1500, one per store in the United States 😂

My guess is 25,000......I'm curious to see how the ebayers and bots alike are going to gravitate towards this.

I can guarantee that you are spot on here. Don't ask me how I know! 🤓😎
How will YOU get around one per address and billing address matches name and then they purge the offer when they ask for ID at pickup?

2 Bacon Cheeseburgers, 1 App, 2 drinks in NYC is $83 before tax, I imagine it's similar in bigger cities. Why is $70 unbelievable?
Right?? If everyone does the math, you're a smidge under $70. Check out the menu/prices online, it adds up

If we tip the same for both good and bad service, what's the point of the tip?

So people are getting bent out of shape because the total was $63.46 - discount ($6.35) + tax ($5.32) = $62.43 + around $7.57 tip (which is only around 12%), is that right? So he lied? That is the total at his Applebee's, I did the math for everyone. Jesus, even if you take off the soda, he didn't lie. You guys need to get a life.
I don't really care, but people were downvoting the original comment because the cost for what the commenter said in much of the country should have been $35 plus tax or less. In fact, I can get two bacon cheeseburgers and an appetizer for $25 at my local Applebee's.

Then it turns out that the commenter later said, well, it was the cheeseburgers plus multiple appetizers plus a drink. That wasn't what he originally said. That makes sense with the cost but the original comment didn't, even in high cost areas. So that's why there was a "lie".

Not sure about you.

Just did pickup order no extras.

1 large combo appetizer
2x bacon cheeseburgers.

Subtotal
$59.47
Taxes
$5.27
ORDER TOTAL
$64.74

This is without tip. 10% discount on the 59.47 is almost $6.

So $58.74 before tip.
11.26 tip about 18%. With all the servers here saying better give 20% cause I make $2/hr. That 18% is still less than the 20-25 that is cried about.

$70.00.

Location: New York.
I just checked the store's menu prices here in midtown and you're right . . dang

Not a surprise, it's just Nick Being Nick. I kind of expected Erie to be excluded, it's "No Costco for you!" Erie, after all.
I Googled who this guy is (not from the area), looks like they own a bunch of franchises? What's the Costco context?

This right here made me realize that I don't need this, nor do I need to contribute to these terrible prices in this awful economy.
My wife and I could easily go out and spend $30 on a meal before our 5 year old was born.
In fact, we spent $80 at Olive garden one night and we had quite a few drinks.

I'm done with these gimmicks. I can't imagine spending $60 at Applebee's for 2 people, and I won't fall for the movie pass model again. Before you know it, they'll tell you that you can only use it between 2-5pm

You still pay tax. So that will be over $100 if you max out.

We went to my local Applebee's two weeks ago. Two bacon cheeseburgers with one large appetizer. The total was $70 with a tip. Even after I got 10% off for being a senior citizen.
Burgers are like $15 each. Appetizers are about $10! You probably got drunk drinks...

What is the catch with " up to 30" no minimum?

One can order $31 of food and only pay $1?
