Yes thats the problem. The system will think its a stolen phone. There's a fix for this issue on the pixel 6a thread. it requires you to submit copy of receipt for them to release the imei.
I looked through different 6a threads and didn't see the info. I tried to activate and was not able to. Is there a specific email to send the info to?

My trade-in got sent to Texas, then to Philadelphia, then back to Texas. Now it's been "in-transit to next facility" for two days.
I wonder how much money/time they are wasting shipping, storing, and processing all these phones (and dealing with customer issues/complaints) versus if they just gave us all the credit without doing any of this.

14 days should be plenty of time for USPS to deliver to Assurant. There should not be cahoots between the two where USPS is not doing destination scans. That should be reported to he Inspector General by those who did not have destination scans.
I do agree that 2 weeks should be enough, but when they have truckload of people sending their trade in, delays and "accidents" (stealing) do happen unfortunately.

I've done many trade in already and the timeframe for them varies wildly. Sometimes, I would get them in 2 weeks and on rare occasion, it almost took me a month to get it which was very frustrating.

I think I know why those phones from Walmart are denied. Walmart didnt properly scan the phones during sale or shipping. No one can activate them if they are not scanned. Many pixel 6a deal thread had issues for this reason.
Oh yeah good catch. I remembered last November during the SE deal where people couldn't activate after purchasing from Walmart. Same thing might be happening with these Walmart Moto phones.

Oh god, the trade in confirmation for my S22+ 256GB shows the model number as:

SM-S906W GALAXY S22 PLUS 5G 256GB - GENERIC

However, that's the model number for the CANADIAN version of the S22+.

The version I have is unlocked and USA version:

SM-906U1

I'm really hoping they don't screw me over...

Seems like Assurant, USPS, and Spectrum really screwed this promo up.

Yes, I think my concern has just been especially peaked because of the combination of the mass delays and some people reporting having issues with their trade in being honored. I think odds are in our favor, but if I did not enter this purchase with intent to gamble.

I had a chat with Straighttalk guy and he created a ticket and asked me to send the order and phone details to an email.

My guess is that as long as you send in a device that they can accept they will accept but with revised trade in quote. Just a guess.

Policy appears to be 14 days to return starting from order date plus 10 days from return initiation date for Spectrum to receive the device.

https://www.spectrum.com/policies...a%20return.
Good point.

However, the problem lies here:

"In order to receive a refund or exchange, Spectrum must receive the Mobile Device within ten (10) days of you receiving a return authorization from Spectrum."

Who's to say that it doesn't take over 10 days for the package to be received by spectrum...

In which case you could be screwed on two fronts (if your online trade-in gets cancelled) and your phone return doesn't get received by spectrum in time.

Once you drop it off, it's literally and figuratively out of your hands. So I don't know how they are acting like you should somehow be responsible.

Should really be a matter of you have x number of days to drop it off, and that's it. How long it takes to be delivered, that's not on me. But that's life, a bunch of "should be's".

Same with trade ins, especially given the current situation.

Yeah but the deal is significantly less "slick" without the free memory upgrade. 256 GB to 512 GB is a huge leap but it's ridiculous how they want an additional $120 just to upgrade the memory now that the promo is over.
Why? It was a promo.

Did you guys print the "Lithium Battery Label" in color.

I remember one time I tried to ship something using UPS, and getting crap for it being in black and white. And they refused to take the package until I reprinted the hazard label in color.

Wondering if that possibly is leading to issues with people's shipments...

It is suppose to be printed in color. However, since the address label is marked with hazard warning and ground service, it may still go through the system fine. If you want to be safe then print it in color. I have not asked at the post office before, but you could potentially even call your local post office and see if they have stickers there at the desk that they could put on for you if you bring it in.

I just punched in the IMEI i sent for trade in into straight talks website (https://www.straighttalk.com/activation) and it says "this device is not eligible". So does that mean Walmart did not activate it?
